Best SOAR Platforms (2026): Top 10 Compared
A SOAR (security orchestration, automation and response) platform connects a security team's tools, runs playbooks that enrich, triage and contain alerts, and tracks the work in cases. The ten platforms here split three ways. Splunk SOAR, Cortex XSOAR, Swimlane Turbine and FortiSOAR are dedicated SOAR products that can run as SaaS or on the buyer's own infrastructure. Google Security Operations, Microsoft Sentinel and Sumo Logic Cloud SOAR bundle playbook automation with a SIEM. Tines, Torq and D3 Morpheus lead with no-code or AI-agent workflows and position themselves against older SOAR tools. Almost every vendor sells by quote; Tines publishes a free edition and Microsoft publishes Sentinel ingestion rates.

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.
SOAR platforms automate the repetitive parts of security operations: enriching alerts, triaging them, opening and updating cases, and running containment steps across the security stack. Buyers also search for this category as security orchestration tools, security automation platforms or incident response automation.
The ten platforms compared here fall into three groups. Splunk SOAR, Cortex XSOAR, Swimlane Turbine and FortiSOAR are dedicated SOAR products with SaaS and self-managed options. Google Security Operations, Microsoft Sentinel and Sumo Logic Cloud SOAR pair automation with a SIEM. Tines, Torq and D3 Morpheus lead with no-code workflows or AI agents. All pricing notes were checked in October 2026. Entries with dated source checks appear first. That order records research readiness. It is not a measure of product quality or a ranking.

Microsoft Sentinel is a cloud SIEM whose documentation describes its SOAR capabilities as two features. Automation rules manage incident handling centrally: they can tag, assign or close incidents directly, or run playbooks when incidents and alerts are created or updated. Playbooks are workflows built on Azure Logic Apps that orchestrate response and integrate with internal and external systems, either automatically or on demand.
The same documentation states that after 31 March 2027 Sentinel will be available only in the Microsoft Defender portal, so customers still in the Azure portal need to plan a transition.
Pricing is per gigabyte of data. The analytics tier supports full alerting and querying, with pay-as-you-go or commitment-tier billing, and a lower-cost data lake tier stores data for investigation and compliance. Microsoft notes that Logic Apps and other Azure services used with Sentinel are charged at their own prices.
Potential strengths
- One of few platforms here with published per-GB and commitment-tier rates
- Automation rules centralise incident handling, so simple actions need no playbook
Trade-offs
- Playbook execution adds a separate Logic Apps charge on top of ingestion
- Sentinel leaves the Azure portal after 31 March 2027 and will run only in the Microsoft Defender portal

Tines is a workflow automation platform used by security and IT teams. Its SOAR solution page describes it as a SOAR platform that deploys in minutes, connects to any tool and applies AI within security guardrails. The product set includes Stories (workflows), Storyboard, Cases, Workbench, Agents and Monitoring, with a templates library for common use cases.
Cases adds case management to workflows, so actions, collaboration and the audit trail for an incident sit in one place. Tines publishes customer material from Mars and SAP on SOC automation, and also markets the platform for threat intelligence, vulnerability management, GRC and IT service delivery.
Pricing is unusual for this category. The Free edition has no user limit but caps live workflows at three. Paid editions remove that cap and add flexible hosting and bring-your-own-model options, with prices given on request.
Potential strengths
- Unlimited users on every edition removes per-seat budgeting
- Cases bring case management into the same workflows, with an audit trail from open to close
Trade-offs
- Free edition is limited to three live workflows
- Paid edition prices are not published

Frequently asked questions
What is a SOAR platform?
SOAR stands for security orchestration, automation and response. A SOAR platform connects security tools such as SIEM, EDR, email security and ticketing systems, runs playbooks that enrich, triage and contain alerts automatically, and records the work in cases so analysts can collaborate and report. Most platforms in this comparison also add AI agents that investigate alerts before a person reviews them.
What is the difference between SOAR and SIEM?
A SIEM collects and correlates log data to detect threats and raise alerts. A SOAR platform acts on those alerts by running automated playbooks and managing the response. Google Security Operations, Microsoft Sentinel and Sumo Logic sell both together, and Splunk includes SOAR in Enterprise Security Premier. Swimlane, Tines, Torq, FortiSOAR and D3 Morpheus work across whichever SIEM is in place.
How much does a SOAR platform cost?
Most SOAR vendors do not publish prices. In October 2026 Splunk, Palo Alto Networks, Google, Fortinet, Swimlane, Torq, D3 Security and Sumo Logic all priced through sales. Tines publishes a free edition with three live workflows. Microsoft publishes Sentinel ingestion rates, such as $4.30 per GB pay-as-you-go in US East, with Logic Apps playbook runs billed separately.
Is there a free SOAR platform?
Tines offers a permanent Free edition with unlimited users, spaces and connectors, three live workflows and a one-time $50 AI allowance. Splunk offers a free trial of Splunk SOAR without a credit card, and Sumo Logic offers a free trial of its Essentials package. The other platforms reviewed here offer demos rather than a published free tier.
Which SOAR platforms can be deployed on premises?
Splunk documents both SOAR On-Premises and SOAR Cloud. Cortex XSOAR is available as XSOAR 8 SaaS and XSOAR 8 On-prem, with the on-premises version reaching end of life on 30 September 2029. FortiSOAR is offered as SaaS or self-managed software. Tines states that flexible hosting options are available on paid editions.
How are SOAR platforms priced?
Pricing units vary. Swimlane tiers by automated actions per day and users. D3 Morpheus prices by daily alert volume plus named users, with AI token costs included. Google Security Operations prices packages by ingestion, and Microsoft Sentinel bills per gigabyte or by daily commitment tier. Sumo Logic activates Cloud SOAR on a subscription with minimum user requirements.
What is the difference between SOAR and an AI SOC platform?
Traditional SOAR runs predefined playbooks. AI SOC platforms use AI agents to investigate and decide on alerts, often handing confirmed actions to playbooks. Torq and D3 Morpheus lead with AI SOC positioning, while Swimlane, FortiSOAR and Tines combine deterministic playbooks with AI agents. Buyers should confirm how each platform logs and controls AI decisions.
How was this list compiled?
Candidates came from buyer queries for SOAR platforms and from vendor websites. Each vendor's product, pricing or contact page and documentation were read on 20 October 2026, and Microsoft Sentinel rates were also read from the Azure retail price list. Blink Ops and ServiceNow Security Operations were considered and left out to keep the comparison at ten. No product was tested hands-on, and no entry is vendor-confirmed.
