Best WhatsApp Business API Platforms (2026): Top 10 Compared

Updated September 2026By StatWharf Editorial10 vendorsMethodology

WhatsApp Business API platforms give companies access to the WhatsApp Business Platform so they can send approved template messages, run broadcasts and handle customer chats from a shared inbox. The ten platforms below differ by buyer and pricing structure. Respond.io, WATI, Interakt, AiSensy, Zoko and DoubleTick bundle an inbox and campaign tools on monthly plans, with Interakt and AiSensy aimed at Indian businesses and Zoko at Shopify brands. Twilio, 360dialog, Gupshup and Bird serve developers, agencies and high-volume senders with per-message or per-number pricing. All ten publish price figures, and the treatment of Meta message fees varies.

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.

A WhatsApp Business API platform connects a business to Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform so that teams can message customers at scale, instead of through the single-device WhatsApp Business app. The API has no interface of its own. Buyers either take raw API access and build on it, or use a platform that adds a shared inbox, broadcast campaigns, chatbots, AI agents and CRM integrations.

The ten platforms compared here fall into two groups. Respond.io, WATI, Interakt, AiSensy, Zoko and DoubleTick are no-code platforms for marketing, sales and support teams, several of them built for Indian and ecommerce businesses. Twilio, 360dialog, Gupshup and Bird are API-first providers for developers and software vendors. In almost every case, Meta’s per-message charges are billed separately from the platform fee; each entry states how that vendor handles them. All pricing notes were checked in September 2026. Entries with dated source checks appear first; that records research readiness, not product quality or a ranking.

Related pages cover AI chatbots, conversational AI platforms and CRM software, which WhatsApp platforms commonly connect to. Buyers comparing WhatsApp Business API platforms may also review WhatsApp chatbot platforms.

Vendor details and trade-offs

Respond.io

mid-marketrespond.io ↗
Consider forSales and support teams that want an AI-assisted omnichannel inbox on the WhatsApp API, with pricing tied to the contacts they actually talk to
Pricing notesStarter US$99, Growth US$199 and Advanced US$349 per month billed monthly, or US$948, US$1,908 and US$3,348 per year; Enterprise custom; WhatsApp fees billed separately by Meta (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluatePlans are priced on Monthly Active Contacts rather than stored contacts, and the vendor states it adds no markup to WhatsApp API fees

Respond.io is a customer conversation management platform that connects to the WhatsApp Business API alongside other chat channels, email and calls. Its WhatsApp API guide describes the product as the software layer on top of Meta's API, which has no front end of its own, and states that respond.io provides API access with no markups or additional fees.

The product centres on a shared team inbox with lifecycle stages, contact activity and a mobile app. Starter includes AI prompts and AI Assist; AI Agents, workflow automation and broadcasts start at Growth. Advanced adds multiple workspaces, single sign-on, phone and email masking, HTTP requests in workflows, webhooks and custom channels. Enterprise removes the user cap and raises workspace and API limits. Listed integrations include Meta and TikTok ads, the Meta product catalog, Cal.com, Calendly, HubSpot and Salesforce.

Pricing is based on Monthly Active Contacts, meaning any contact the business chats or calls with in the billing month. Growth and Advanced start at 1,000 such contacts. Above the tier, service continues and extra contacts are billed per 100 at US$12 on Growth and US$15 on Advanced. Starter includes 5 users; Growth and Advanced include 10. AI credits are included, with on-demand credits at US$15 per 1,000, capped at 200% of the allowance.

Meta's WhatsApp charges sit outside the subscription. Respond.io fits teams that run sales and support on WhatsApp and want CRM connections. Very small teams sending occasional broadcasts may find cheaper broadcast-first tools.

Potential strengths

  • The pricing FAQ states plainly that WhatsApp fees are not included and are charged by Meta, with a top-up balance on the platform
  • Native HubSpot and Salesforce integrations, webhooks and a developer API are listed on the plan comparison
  • A 7-day free trial is offered with no credit card

Trade-offs

  • Broadcasts, workflow automation and the developer API start at the Growth plan, not Starter
  • Contacts above the plan tier are billed on demand at US$12 or US$15 per 100, which adds variable cost in busy months

WATI

smbwati.io ↗
Consider forSmall and mid-sized businesses that want a no-code WhatsApp team inbox, broadcast campaigns and click-to-WhatsApp ads tooling on published plans
Pricing notesUS pricing: Growth US$69, Pro US$149 and Business US$349 per month billed monthly, or US$708, US$1,428 and US$3,348 per year; message charges extra per the WATI rate card (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateA zero-subscription option for Indian businesses charges a one-time ₹999 that is returned as message credits, for teams that only send bulk campaigns

WATI is a WhatsApp-first engagement platform for running campaigns, chatbots and a shared inbox on the official WhatsApp Business API without code. Its pricing page shows three plans, Growth, Pro and Business, with prices that change by region; the figures here come from the page's pricing feed for United States visitors.

Growth includes one channel, three users, WhatsApp and Instagram messaging, WhatsApp Business Calling, broadcasts, click-to-WhatsApp ads, a WhatsApp catalog and Shopify abandoned-cart templates, with 15,000 broadcasts, 1,000 automation triggers and 10,000 API calls a month and no webhooks. Pro adds advanced chatbots, carousel templates, click tracking, Astra AI agents for web, WhatsApp and voice, team routing and five integrations including HubSpot. Business adds multiple WhatsApp numbers, round-robin assignment, number masking, IP whitelisting, a dedicated customer success manager, Salesforce and sending at 4,000 messages per minute, with a paid add-on for 12,000.

Every paid plan states that message charges are extra, vary by marketing, utility and authentication category, and are charged against the WATI rate card. In India, a pay-as-you-go plan charges a one-time ₹999, returns it as message credits, and keeps the account valid for three months while messages are sent regularly.

WATI suits small and mid-sized teams that want published prices. Seat cost is the main variable: Growth cannot add users, and extra seats on Business cost US$69 each per month. Buyers outside the United States should check their regional price.

Potential strengths

  • Plan pages list usage limits in detail, including broadcasts, automation triggers, API calls and AI co-pilot credits
  • The Business plan supports multiple WhatsApp numbers, sending up to 4,000 messages per minute and SMS fallback in beta
  • WhatsApp API setup and green tick verification help are included at no setup fee

Trade-offs

  • The Growth plan includes 3 users with no option to add more, and caps broadcasts at 15,000 per month
  • Additional users cost US$24 per month on Pro and US$69 per month on Business, which raises the cost for larger teams

Interakt

smbinterakt.shop ↗
Consider forIndian small businesses and D2C brands that want WhatsApp campaigns, a team inbox, catalog selling and a WhatsApp-first sales CRM with unlimited agents
Pricing notesGrowth US$55 and Advanced US$69 per month plus taxes; Enterprise on request; per-template message charges extra (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateEvery plan includes unlimited agents, and Interakt can fall back to RCS messages when a WhatsApp message fails to deliver

Interakt is a WhatsApp Business API platform for small and growing businesses, with a strong presence among Indian D2C brands. Its homepage describes a marketing and support hub, WhatsApp AI agents and a WhatsApp-first sales CRM, and states that more than 50,000 businesses use it. Instagram is supported, and RCS serves as a fallback when WhatsApp messages fail.

Growth costs US$55 per month and Advanced US$69, both plus taxes, with Enterprise on request. Quarterly billing saves 8% and yearly billing 20%. Every plan includes unlimited agents and contacts, and message volume is limited only by the WhatsApp number's Meta messaging tier. Growth includes bulk campaigns, a shared inbox, FAQ automation, linear chatbot flows, catalogs, native payments and public APIs. Advanced adds branching chatbots with API calls and conditions, automatic assignment and advanced webhooks. Enterprise adds RCS, higher rate limits, faster campaigns, personalised support and no template markups.

Message costs are charged per template. For Indian numbers, the page lists marketing at ₹0.958, authentication at ₹0.128 and utility at ₹0.150 per message, with service messages free; a separate page covers other regions. Because only Enterprise lists no template markups, buyers on lower plans should compare these rates with Meta's rate card.

Interakt fits businesses that want low entry pricing without seat charges and plan to sell through catalogs and payments inside WhatsApp. Teams needing complex bot logic should budget for Advanced.

Potential strengths

  • Unlimited agents and unlimited contacts on every plan remove seat-based cost
  • The pricing page publishes per-template message costs for Indian numbers alongside the subscription
  • WhatsApp catalogs, native payments and Shopify or WooCommerce catalog sync support selling inside chats

Trade-offs

  • Branching chatbots, API calls inside flows, auto-assignment and advanced webhooks require the Advanced plan
  • The Enterprise plan is the only tier listed with no template markups, which implies message charges on lower plans may include a margin

AiSensy

smbaisensy.com ↗
Consider forIndian businesses that want a free WhatsApp API connection to start, then broadcast, retargeting and click-to-WhatsApp ads tools on prepaid plans
Pricing notesFree Forever plan; Basic ₹1,500, Pro ₹3,200 and Premium ₹9,100 per month; Enterprise ₹45,000 per month via sales; WhatsApp message credits charged separately (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateA Free Forever plan lets a business claim the WhatsApp Business API, apply for the blue tick and run Meta ads before paying a subscription

AiSensy is an India-based WhatsApp marketing platform built on the WhatsApp Business API. Its pricing page states that more than 210,000 businesses in over 68 countries use it, and the plans target marketers running broadcasts and retargeting rather than large support desks.

Free Forever lets a business obtain the API with no subscription, apply for the blue tick and run click-to-WhatsApp ads, with a shared inbox. Basic, at ₹1,500 per month, adds broadcasting, retargeting and a team inbox. Pro, at ₹3,200, adds scheduling, click tracking and budget analytics. Premium, at ₹9,100, adds number masking, downloadable reports, template expiry settings and faster sending. Enterprise, listed at ₹45,000 per month through sales, covers up to 200 agent seats, 1,000 messages per second and a dedicated account manager. Quarterly and yearly billing save 5% and 10%. Outside India, dollar pricing runs from US$45 on Basic to US$899 on the top tier.

WhatsApp message credits are recharged separately. For Indian recipients, marketing templates cost ₹1.09 and utility or authentication templates ₹0.145, with service conversations free and utility templates inside an open service window not charged. New accounts receive ₹50 of credit.

Add-ons include a chatbot builder at ₹2,500 per month for five chatbots, an AI agent builder from ₹1,350 per month with 1,000 AI messages, and an Indian virtual number at ₹2,000 plus GST per year. Teams with heavy automation needs should total these costs.

Potential strengths

  • The pricing page separates plan fees from WhatsApp message credits and lists the per-message rates for Indian users
  • International buyers get published dollar pricing, from US$45 per month on Basic
  • No-code chatbot and AI agent builders are sold as clearly priced add-ons

Trade-offs

  • Chatbots and AI agents are charged on top of the plan, so a full automation setup costs more than the plan price alone
  • All billing is prepaid, for both the subscription and message credits

Zoko

specialistzoko.io ↗
Consider forShopify brands that want WhatsApp broadcasts, catalog selling and prebuilt ecommerce automations such as COD confirmation and abandoned checkout recovery
Pricing notesStarter US$49.99, Plus US$79.99, Elite US$139.99 and Max US$499.99 per month; WhatsApp messages billed at the rate card, with a Zoko markup only on Starter (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluatePaid tiers above Starter include a block of conversations with no Zoko markup on top of Meta's rate card, from 5,000 on Plus to 5 million on Max

Zoko is a WhatsApp marketing and commerce platform built for Shopify stores. Its homepage describes syncing a Shopify catalog to WhatsApp, selling inside chats, broadcasting and automating tasks with Zoko Flows.

Starter costs US$49.99 per month, allows unlimited agents and adds a markup of US$0.015 on every conversation. Plus costs US$79.99 with 5,000 conversations free of Zoko markup and five agents. Elite costs US$139.99 with 100,000 unmarked conversations and ten agents, and Max costs US$499.99 with 5 million and 30 agents. Beyond each allowance a small per-conversation fee applies, and extra agents cost US$9 to US$15 each. Calling minutes follow the same pattern. Facebook is free, Instagram costs US$9.99 per month and WhatsApp is charged at the rate card, so Meta's message charges are paid on top.

Eleven essential flows are free on all plans, including abandoned checkout recovery, review collection, cash-on-delivery confirmation, COD-to-prepaid conversion and order notifications. Premium flows, such as Judge.me review sync or third-party checkout recovery, cost US$5.99 per flow per month, with 500,000 flow steps included monthly. AI agents for FAQs and order tracking cost US$0.09 per resolution after 100 free, and the Sello sales agent takes 3% of order value.

All charges are prepaid. Zoko fits Shopify merchants, especially those handling cash-on-delivery orders. Businesses without a Shopify store should compare general-purpose platforms.

Potential strengths

  • Eleven essential ecommerce flows, including COD confirmation, review collection and order notifications, are included on every plan
  • The pricing page publishes the markup per conversation beyond each plan's allowance
  • No contracts and a 7-day free trial lower the cost of evaluation

Trade-offs

  • The product is built around Shopify, so non-Shopify businesses gain less from its ecommerce tooling
  • Custom flows, AI agents and the Sello sales agent are billed separately per flow, per resolution or as a share of order value

DoubleTick

mid-marketdoubletick.io ↗
Consider forSales-led and multi-branch businesses that need to run many WhatsApp numbers from one dashboard, with SLA tracking, governance and broadcasts
Pricing notesStarter, Pro and Enterprise plans billed yearly, with the displayed price set by region; the page's default plan data lists ₹3,000 and ₹4,200 per month for Starter and Pro; Enterprise custom; WhatsApp conversation charges extra (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateThe vendor states that more than 500 WhatsApp Business numbers can be added to one account, each with its own broadcasts and automations

DoubleTick is a WhatsApp Business API platform from Apport Software Solutions, based in Mumbai. Its homepage describes a central command center for every WhatsApp number, department and conversation, with governance controls, AI agents trained on a business's knowledge base, broadcasts and click-to-WhatsApp campaigns. Named users include MakeMyTrip and Piramal Finance.

The product leans toward sales teams and organisations with many numbers. The homepage FAQ states that more than 500 WhatsApp Business numbers can run in one account, with broadcasts and automations set per number. Leads can be routed by region, language or availability, and working hours trigger automatic replies. Governance features include SLA breach alerts, resolution tracking, team-wise SLA reports, AI chat tagging and custom fields that AI fills from conversations.

The pricing page offers Starter, Pro and Enterprise plans billed yearly, with the displayed price set by region. The page's default plan data lists ₹3,000 per month for Starter and ₹4,200 for Pro, with Enterprise on request. The feature matrix shows unlimited inbox messages, five agents on the entry plan, ten on Pro and a custom number on Enterprise, and broadcast scheduling limits of 10, 20 and 100. Roles and permissions, number masking, Google Sheets and Excel integrations, a developer API and bot journeys are listed.

WhatsApp conversation charges are separate and vary by destination country. Buyers outside India should request a quote in their own currency.

Potential strengths

  • Real-time SLA breach alerts, resolution tracking and team-wise SLA reports support service-level governance
  • Free onboarding covers Facebook approval, number registration, broadcast list import and guidance on avoiding number bans
  • The pricing page states unlimited messages in the team inbox on every plan

Trade-offs

  • Plan prices are shown by region and billed yearly, which makes a like-for-like comparison harder
  • Agent counts are fixed at 5 on the entry plan and 10 on Pro before moving to Enterprise

Twilio

enterprisetwilio.com ↗
Consider forEngineering teams that want to send and receive WhatsApp messages through the same programmable messaging APIs used for SMS and other channels
Pricing notesUS$0.005 Twilio fee per message, inbound or outbound, plus Meta's per-template fees passed through; US$0.001 per failed message; no subscription (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateWhatsApp runs on the same Twilio Messaging APIs as SMS, so a development team can add the channel without a separate integration to Meta

Twilio is a communications platform-as-a-service provider whose APIs send SMS, voice, email and chat messages. Its WhatsApp product runs on the Twilio Messaging APIs already used for SMS, which the pricing page presents as a way to avoid integrating directly with Meta's API. Twilio handles onboarding, managed infrastructure and compliance tooling.

Pricing is pay-as-you-go. Twilio charges US$0.005 per message, inbound or outbound, and passes Meta's per-template fees through. Under Meta's model, utility, authentication and marketing templates are charged per message, while free-form messages and utility templates inside a 24-hour customer service window carry no Meta fee. The page states that utility and authentication Meta fees start at US$0.0034 and that pricing is current as of August 2026. Messages that end in a failed status incur a US$0.001 fee.

The Messaging Engagement Suite, adding link shortening, click tracking and scheduling, costs US$0.015 per message after the first 1,000 each month. WhatsApp Business Calling is billed at US$0.005 per minute plus Meta's connectivity fee, which varies by country code.

Twilio suits engineering-led businesses building WhatsApp into their own product for notifications, passcodes or support flows. It ships no marketing dashboard or shared inbox, so teams wanting campaigns and agent collaboration out of the box should compare the no-code platforms on this page.

Potential strengths

  • The pricing page separates Twilio's own fee from Meta's pass-through fees in plain terms
  • WhatsApp Business Calling is priced per minute on the same page
  • No subscription or seat fee applies to the messaging API

Trade-offs

  • There is no ready-made team inbox or campaign manager; teams must build the interface or buy one separately
  • A per-message fee also applies to inbound messages, which adds cost for high-volume support traffic

360dialog

specialist360dialog.com ↗
Consider forDevelopers, agencies and software platforms that want direct WhatsApp API access per number, or a multi-client partner setup with no message markup
Pricing notesWhatsApp API from €49 per number per month (Regular), €99 (Premium) and €249 (Advanced), plus Meta messaging fees; partner plans from €250 per month plus per-channel fees (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateThe Advanced plan raises throughput to up to 1,000 messages per second for eligible numbers, against Meta's standard limit of 80

360dialog is a WhatsApp Business Solution Provider that sells API access to businesses and developers, and infrastructure to software companies building WhatsApp features for their clients. Its pricing page covers a marketplace, the WhatsApp API, a partner platform, performance messaging services and an analytics product, 360Pilot.

API plans are priced per number per month, with Meta's messaging fees on top. Regular costs €49 and includes round-the-clock human support with a first response target under four hours, a Meta escalation path and Zapier, Make and n8n integrations. Premium costs €99 and adds a 30-minute response target, business verification within 48 hours, a messaging MCP server for AI agents, and inbox, sendout and automation add-ons. Advanced costs €249 and adds priority support and up to 1,000 messages per second for eligible numbers, against Meta's standard 80.

The Marketplace, at €99 per number per month, pairs number hosting with a matched partner tool, and the vendor states that customers keep their number and can switch tools. The Partner Platform serves software vendors: Starter costs €250 per month with five channels then €49 per channel, Growth €500 with ten and €25 per channel, and Premium €1,000 with twenty and €15 per channel, all month-to-month with zero message markup.

360dialog fits technical buyers wanting transparent API access and platforms reselling WhatsApp. Marketing teams without developers will likely need a partner tool on top.

Potential strengths

  • Flat per-number pricing, with Meta fees shown as a separate line, makes costs easy to model
  • Partner plans support unlimited WhatsApp Business Accounts through one API with zero message markup
  • Premium includes a messaging MCP server for connecting AI agents to WhatsApp

Trade-offs

  • The Regular API plan is developer-focused; the inbox, sendout and automation add-ons start at Premium
  • Businesses that want a full marketing suite are pointed to partner tools through the separate Marketplace offer

Gupshup

enterprisegupshup.ai ↗
Consider forHigh-volume senders and software vendors that want low per-message API pricing with no subscription, backed by large-scale messaging infrastructure
Pricing notesSelf-serve API: US$0.001 Gupshup fee per template or session message, with WhatsApp fees billed at actuals; no subscription or volume commitment (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluatePartners can use two Meta BSP licences, Gupshup's own and that of One Direct, a company Gupshup acquired in 2022

Gupshup is a conversational messaging and AI company and an official Meta Business Solution Provider. It states that it serves more than 50,000 customers in over 130 countries and handles more than 120 billion messages a year. Its WhatsApp self-serve offer is packaged as an ISV partner programme for software vendors, agencies and businesses building on the API.

Gupshup charges a flat US$0.001 per template or session message, applied to outgoing and incoming text, and bills WhatsApp's fees at actuals by category and country. Media above 64KB carries no Gupshup fee, and voice calls cost US$0.0001 per second, with inbound user-initiated calls free of WhatsApp charges. The partner page states there are no subscription fees, hidden fees or volume commitments.

Scale is the main claim. The partner page cites more than 3,500 ISV partners, over 100,000 brands, more than 300 million messages daily with peaks above 750 million, and capacity above 50,000 messages per second, plus authentication delivery under 100 milliseconds during large parallel campaigns. Partners can connect through Gupshup's own BSP licence or that of One Direct, an omnichannel customer service company Gupshup acquired in 2022.

Gupshup fits high-volume senders of authentication and transactional messages, and software vendors building WhatsApp into their products. Businesses wanting a ready-made campaign dashboard with published seat plans may find the no-code platforms simpler.

Potential strengths

  • A fixed US$0.001 per-message fee with no subscription keeps platform cost low at high volume
  • The vendor cites capacity above 50,000 messages per second and more than 300 million messages delivered daily
  • Media messages above 64KB carry no extra Gupshup fee

Trade-offs

  • The self-serve offer is an API and partner programme; teams without developers need a separate front end
  • The Gupshup fee applies to incoming session messages as well as outgoing ones

Bird

enterprisebird.com ↗
Consider forDevelopers and operations teams that prefer one all-in per-message rate, with Meta's fee included, and no platform or seat fee
Pricing notesPer message delivered, Meta's fee included; to US numbers: marketing US$0.030, utility and authentication US$0.0084, service US$0.0050; no platform or seat fee (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateBird publishes a single rate per message and destination that already includes Meta's fee, instead of billing Meta charges as a separate line

Bird is a communications platform that sells messaging, email, voice and phone number services through APIs. Its WhatsApp product page describes the API as gated by approved templates, opted-in recipients and verified businesses, and presents Bird as handling those requirements between the developer and Meta.

Bird provides SDKs for the major runtimes and states that a first message can go out within minutes of installation, using a Bird-managed template Meta has already approved, so a developer sees a real message arrive before writing one. The page lists eight tasks Bird handles on the customer's behalf.

The pricing model differs from most platforms here. Bird's pricing page states that every product is priced by use, with no platform fee, no per-seat fee and no features locked behind an annual commitment. WhatsApp is charged one rate per message delivered, by destination country and category, and the rate already includes Meta's fee. To United States numbers, marketing costs US$0.030, utility and authentication US$0.0084, and service messages US$0.0050; international authentication is not published. Buyers should compare these all-in rates with Meta's rate card plus another platform's fee.

Bird fits engineering and operations teams wanting predictable per-message pricing across several channels. Teams with heavy inbound support volume should note the charge on service messages, and teams needing a campaign manager or inbox should check which Bird products they need beyond the API.

Potential strengths

  • All-in rates by country and category make total cost straightforward to forecast
  • No seat fee, platform fee or annual commitment is required
  • SDKs and a Meta-approved starter template let a developer send a first message quickly

Trade-offs

  • Service messages carry a US$0.0050 charge to US numbers, where many platforms pass through Meta's free service messages
  • Because Meta's fee is bundled, the platform margin is not shown separately

Frequently asked questions

What is a WhatsApp Business API platform?

Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform lets a business message customers at scale with multiple users, automation and integrations, but has no interface of its own. Twilio, 360dialog, Gupshup and Bird supply API access to developers. Respond.io, WATI, Interakt, AiSensy, Zoko and DoubleTick add a team inbox, broadcasts, chatbots and CRM features on top.

Are Meta's WhatsApp message charges included in platform pricing?

Usually not. Respond.io, WATI, AiSensy, Twilio, 360dialog, Gupshup, Zoko and DoubleTick state that WhatsApp message charges are billed on top of the platform fee, often from a prepaid balance. Bird's per-message rates already include Meta's fee. Interakt publishes per-template rates and lists no template markups only on Enterprise.

How does WhatsApp Business API pricing work in 2026?

Meta charges per template message delivered, by category and recipient country. Marketing templates cost the most; utility and authentication cost less. Free-form replies inside the 24-hour customer service window are free, as are utility templates sent inside it. Platforms add a subscription, per-message fee or markup on top.

What is the cheapest way to get the WhatsApp Business API?

With developers, per-message API providers carry the lowest platform fee: Gupshup charges US$0.001 per message and Twilio US$0.005, plus Meta's fees. Without developers, AiSensy offers a Free Forever plan and WATI a zero-subscription option in India. Meta's message charges apply in every case, so volume usually matters more than plan price.

Which platforms suit ecommerce and Shopify stores?

Zoko is built for Shopify and includes free flows for COD confirmation, abandoned checkout recovery and order notifications. WATI lists Shopify abandoned-cart templates and a WhatsApp catalog. Interakt syncs catalogs from Shopify or WooCommerce with native payments. AiSensy lists cart management and a Shopify chatbot integration.

Which platforms suit developers building WhatsApp into their own product?

Twilio, 360dialog, Gupshup and Bird are API-first. Twilio suits teams already using its SMS APIs. 360dialog charges a flat fee per number and offers a zero-markup partner platform for software vendors. Gupshup charges a flat per-message fee with no subscription. Bird publishes all-in per-message rates with SDKs.

Can a business run WhatsApp for regulated data such as health information?

None of the pricing pages reviewed here documents HIPAA eligibility or a business associate agreement for WhatsApp messaging. Regulated buyers should ask each finalist in writing whether it will sign the required agreements, where message data is stored, and what Meta's terms allow. Number masking, permissions and single sign-on are access controls, not compliance certifications.

How should this comparison be used?

Use the documented buyer fit, pricing and trade-offs to narrow a shortlist to two or three platforms. Estimate a full month's cost from real volumes: platform fee, seats, add-ons and Meta's charges by category and country. Then trial each finalist on a test number. This page records public documentation and pricing checks, not hands-on testing.
