These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.

SAP data migration tools move business data from legacy systems into SAP, and most projects in 2026 are moves to SAP S/4HANA. A migration has to extract master data, open items and history, convert them to the S/4HANA data model, load them and prove that nothing was lost. The work repeats across test cycles and waves, and it usually sits on the critical path to go-live. SAP’s own cockpit handles standard loads, and third-party tools add cleansing, selective transition, downtime control and reconciliation.

The eight products compared below fall into four groups. SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit is the tool included with S/4HANA. Syniti, Natuvion and Migravion run full extract, transform and load projects. SNP Kyano CrystalBridge, cbs ET Enterprise Transformer and EPI-USE Labs PRISM centre on selective data transition between SAP systems. Precisely Automate Studio loads and changes SAP data from Excel. Product and pricing details were checked on each vendor’s own site, or SAP Help for SAP, in October 2026. Entries with dated source checks appear first, which records research readiness, not product quality.

Vendor details and trade-offs

SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit

enterprisehelp.sap.com ↗
Consider forSAP S/4HANA customers loading standard master and transactional data in a new implementation, because SAP documents predefined migration objects loaded through staging tables or directly from an SAP ERP source
Pricing notesNo separate price published: the cockpit is part of SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Help states that the DMIS add-on needed in the source system is included in the SAP S/4HANA licence (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateTwo documented approaches in one Fiori app: staging tables filled from XML templates or another tool, and direct transfer from an SAP source system over RFC

The SAP S/4HANA migration cockpit is SAP's own tool for loading business data into S/4HANA. It runs as the Fiori app Migrate Your Data. SAP Help states that the older transaction LTMC is deprecated and can no longer be used to migrate data, so projects now work in the Fiori app.

SAP documents two approaches. In the first, Migrate Data Using Staging Tables, the cockpit creates staging tables for each migration object. Teams fill them from XML template files or from another tool, then the cockpit validates and posts the data. In the second, Migrate Data Directly from SAP System, the cockpit connects to an SAP source over RFC and selects data by criteria such as company code. The lowest supported source release for the SAP ERP scenario is ERP 6.0. An S/4HANA system cannot be the source.

Each project uses predefined migration objects for records such as customers, materials and open items. Teams process mapping tasks, simulate the load and correct errors before posting. The migration object modeler extends or changes objects. SAP Help also sets a licence rule for staging tables. A third-party ETL tool may fill them, but only for the cockpit's use and only while a migration project is active. That rule matters to buyers who pair the cockpit with a separate ETL tool, which is common in larger programmes.

Potential strengths

  • No additional licence is needed for the cockpit itself, which makes it the cost baseline every other tool on this page should be measured against
  • Migration objects follow SAP's own S/4HANA data model, and the migration object modeler (transaction LTMOM) lets teams adjust or add objects

Trade-offs

  • Direct transfer requires SAP ERP 6.0 or later as the source, so non-SAP legacy data must go through templates or staging tables
  • Data cleansing, profiling and reconciliation across many sources are left to the project team or to a separate tool

Syniti (SAP Advanced Data Migration and Management)

enterprisesyniti.com ↗
Consider forEnterprises running multi-wave SAP S/4HANA, cloud or merger migrations from many legacy sources, because Syniti documents a platform that combines migration, data quality and reuse of mappings across waves
Pricing notesQuote-based: the SAP migration pages publish no rate card and route enquiries to a demo request or sales contact (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateSAP Advanced Data Migration and Management by Syniti is an SAP Premium Certified Solution Extension, and Syniti states more than 5,000 go-lives

Syniti is a data management company whose SAP migration product is offered as SAP Advanced Data Migration and Management by Syniti, or SAP ADMM. The vendor calls it an SAP Premium Certified Solution Extension and a preferred partner for RISE with SAP. Its homepage reports that Capgemini has closed its acquisition of Syniti.

The product runs on the Syniti Knowledge Platform, which also includes modules for data quality, matching, replication, catalog and governance, and master data management. Syniti positions the migration method beyond lift-and-shift ETL. Data is profiled, checked against business rules, fixed by its owners through a remediation interface and loaded once it is ready for the business. Dashboards report timelines, data quality and workflow status.

The vendor covers greenfield loads, brownfield conversions and selective data transition to S/4HANA, plus mergers, acquisitions and moves to SAP SuccessFactors and Ariba. It states more than 5,000 go-lives and an eight-step migration method. Named customers on the S/4HANA page include Levi Strauss and Co., Phillips 66, Mitre 10 and Zespri. Syniti cites an IDC study for average annual benefits of USD 4.16 million and a 38% reduction in migration cost. It also claims up to 50% lower cost on later data projects because mappings and rules are kept for reuse. A data sheet notes availability on the AWS Marketplace.

Potential strengths

  • Data quality checks and a self-service remediation interface are part of the migration platform, so business owners can fix records without a separate tool
  • Mappings, rules and decisions are stored for reuse, which the vendor ties to faster later waves and lower future project cost

Trade-offs

  • No price is published, and the pages give no indication of licence basis, such as per project, per object or per year
  • Headline figures such as 314% ROI and a 38% cost reduction come from an IDC study cited by the vendor, not from independent testing

SNP Kyano CrystalBridge

enterprisesnpgroup.com ↗
Consider forSAP customers moving between SAP systems with a selective scope, such as carve-outs, mergers or S/4HANA transitions, because SNP documents table-level SAP-to-SAP migration with near-zero downtime
Pricing notesQuote-based: the CrystalBridge and S/4HANA migration pages publish no rate card and route enquiries to a demo booking (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateTable-to-table transfer with prepared analyses, predefined project plans and hundreds of transformation objects drawn from 30 years of SAP migrations

SNP is a software company focused on SAP data management and transformation. CrystalBridge is now sold as Kyano CrystalBridge, one product within Kyano Move, the migration part of SNP's Kyano platform. The other parts are Kyano Foundation for landscape analysis and Kyano Manage for validation, testing, archiving and decommissioning.

SNP describes CrystalBridge as a selective SAP data migration tool for SAP-to-SAP transitions. The method is table-to-table rather than object by object. The vendor states that it ships with prepared analyses, predefined project plans and hundreds of transformation objects based on more than 30 years of SAP migrations. Guided, software-based procedures standardise the migration phase. SNP states that automated steps cut cutover time and support both big bang and wave approaches with near-zero downtime. SNP is a member of the SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Engagement community.

The S/4HANA page frames three routes: start fresh, move everything, or pick and choose. Kyano is described as covering the full journey, from system analysis and blueprint through monitoring of the transformation to archiving data that does not need to move. Customer stories on the site include Bühler, Elkjøp, DuPont and LITEF. Other Kyano Move products, Crossway and Glue, cover cross-platform moves and cloud data integration.

Potential strengths

  • Works at SAP table level, which suits company code merges, carve-outs and other restructuring that standard migration objects do not cover
  • Sits inside the wider Kyano platform, so analysis, validation, archiving and decommissioning can run alongside the migration

Trade-offs

  • The product is built for SAP-to-SAP transitions, so loads from non-SAP legacy systems need another Kyano product or tool
  • No price is published, and buyers should confirm which Kyano modules a quote includes

Natuvion Data Conversion Suite

enterprisenatuvion.com ↗
Consider forSAP customers running S/4HANA transformations, carve-outs or system merges with tight downtime windows, because Natuvion documents one suite covering analysis, migration, cutover planning, validation and decommissioning
Pricing notesQuote-based: the Data Conversion Suite pages publish no rate card and route enquiries to a contact form (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateDCS Migrate supports greenfield, brownfield and selective data transition, with shadow migration and delta loads for near-zero downtime

Natuvion is an SAP transformation specialist that sells the Data Conversion Suite, or DCS, alongside consulting services. The vendor describes DCS as an integrated product family for every phase of an IT transformation, from first analysis through migration to decommissioning of legacy systems. It names support for greenfield, brownfield and selective data transition approaches.

DCS Migrate is the migration engine. It extracts, transforms, enriches, stages and loads data from multiple sources into S/4HANA in public or private cloud, on-premise or hybrid landscapes. Natuvion names SAP GROW and RISE programmes, carve-outs, carve-ins, mergers and platform harmonisation as target projects. Listed features include filtered data selection, staging and cleansing before import, automatic and template-based mapping, and all common load mechanisms. Shadow migration and delta migration support near-zero downtime cutovers. Reports can be compared across test cycles and projects.

The other modules handle the work around the move. DCS Analyze reviews master and transactional data before a project. DCS Watch plans and monitors cutover tasks. DCS Validate checks data integrity before, during and after migration. DCS Protect and DCS Test handle sensitive data and test data, DCS Retire handles decommissioning, and DCS Compose holds the transformation rule library. Natuvion states that its experience comes from nearly 1,000 transformations.

Potential strengths

  • Cutover planning (DCS Watch), validation (DCS Validate) and data protection (DCS Protect) are part of the same suite, which reduces hand-offs between tools
  • A legacy decommissioning module, DCS Retire, keeps old data accessible for audits after the source system is switched off

Trade-offs

  • The full suite has nine modules, so buyers need to scope which ones a project needs before a quote is useful
  • AI automation claims on the product pages carry no stated method or measured result

cbs ET Enterprise Transformer

enterprisecbs-consulting.com ↗
Consider forLarge multinational groups that need to harmonise, consolidate or restructure SAP landscapes as part of an S/4HANA transformation, because cbs documents selective data and process transformation with a few hours of downtime
Pricing notesQuote-based: the Enterprise Transformer page publishes no rate card and routes enquiries to cbs consultants (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateCovers design, extraction, transformation, simulation and load, documentation and testing in one workflow, with a 'Migration Factory' for repeatable waves

cbs Corporate Business Solutions is an SAP consultancy, and the Enterprise Transformer, or ET, is its standard software for S/4HANA transformation projects. The vendor states that ET uses SAP standard technology and is built on three decades of project experience and its M-cbs method. Counters on the product page report more than 3,500 successful transformation projects and 1,000 transformed customers.

ET is described as software for harmonising, standardising, consolidating and transforming IT landscapes regardless of origin. It transfers processes, data and other content from legacy systems into SAP. The workflow covers design, extraction, transformation, simulation and load, documentation and testing. Validation logic, consistency checks and mapping checks run throughout, with end-to-end audit trails. cbs states that transformation is deterministic and fully controllable. AI supports analysis and testing but does not change the transformation logic.

The vendor frames four strategies, including a Fast Value approach and a minimally invasive approach that lets go-live fall when the business chooses rather than at year-end. An Any-to-SAP option covers migration from third-party and legacy systems as well as SAP-to-SAP. The vendor cites downtime of just a few hours. A Migration Factory is offered for repeatable, standardised waves across many entities. cbs also lists a related product, cbs EA Enterprise Analyzer.

Potential strengths

  • Simulation before load and built-in validation logic let teams see the result of a transformation before it reaches the target system
  • Go-live can be scheduled to suit the business rather than a fiscal year-end, according to the vendor

Trade-offs

  • The software is tied to the M-cbs method and cbs consultants, so buyers wanting to run it with another integrator should confirm that option
  • Savings of up to 30% and project time cuts of up to 35% are the vendor's own claims without a stated method

EPI-USE Labs PRISM for S/4HANA

specialistepiuselabs.com ↗
Consider forSAP ERP customers that want a selective move to S/4HANA mixing greenfield and brownfield elements, because EPI-USE Labs documents PRISM as a turnkey selective data transition service built on its own software
Pricing notesQuote-based: the PRISM page offers a free automated assessment and a demo but publishes no project or licence price (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateA free automated assessment produces an interactive dashboard of system complexity and migration paths before any commitment

EPI-USE Labs is an SAP software and services company within Group Elephant. PRISM is its brand and approach for selective data transition from an existing ERP to S/4HANA and other SAP targets. The vendor describes PRISM in plain terms as extract, transform and load software combined with a delivery approach.

PRISM for S/4HANA is offered as a turnkey selective data-migration service. It uses EPI-USE Labs' own software and lets a project combine greenfield and brownfield elements. Buyers can choose how much data and how much transformation to carry over. Examples on the page include changing the chart of accounts or controlling area, cleaning up master data and leaving historical or divested data behind. Data not taken to the cloud can be kept read-only in the vendor's Archive Central product. PRISM also covers moves to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll and SAP BW/4HANA, and the vendor states that it works with RISE with SAP.

Projects start with a free automated assessment. EPI-USE Labs reviews an interactive dashboard of system complexity and possible paths with the customer. For testing, the vendor offers lean, sliced and masked copies of production for the sandbox dress rehearsals SAP recommends. A separate PRISM for business offering applies the same software to mergers, divestitures and internal restructuring. The group states more than 1,900 clients in 50 countries.

Potential strengths

  • The free assessment lets a team test the selective route before buying, and the vendor states that the transport used does not expose confidential system data
  • Lean, masked sandbox copies of production support the dress rehearsals SAP recommends before go-live

Trade-offs

  • PRISM is sold as a turnkey service, so it suits buyers who want a delivered project more than those who want a licence to run themselves
  • The approach is aimed at SAP sources, and the page gives little detail on loading from non-SAP legacy systems

Migravion by LeverX

mid-marketmigravion.com ↗
Consider forProject teams migrating to S/4HANA from SAP and non-SAP sources without writing code, because LeverX documents a drag-and-drop ETL tool that loads through the SAP Migration Cockpit or SAP APIs
Pricing notesQuote-based: the S/4HANA migration page offers a 14-day guided trial and expert contact but publishes no rate card (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluatePopulates Migration Cockpit XML or CSV templates, loads staging tables directly, or uses OData and RFC for objects the cockpit does not cover

Migravion is a data migration and integration tool from LeverX, an SAP Gold Partner that states more than 20 years of SAP work. The product was previously sold as DataLark, and the old name still appears on parts of the site. Migravion runs on-premise, in the cloud or in hybrid setups.

The S/4HANA page sets out five steps. Extraction connects to legacy systems, spreadsheets, cloud applications and databases. Transformation converts, cleanses, enriches and validates data through a visual, no-code interface with reusable rules and lookups. Loading uses several paths. Migravion can fill SAP Migration Cockpit XML or CSV templates, write directly to staging tables, or load through OData or RFC APIs for objects the cockpit does not support. Post-load actions compare loaded data with the source and re-validate dependent objects. Reporting tracks load status, data quality issues and audit logs.

The vendor claims the process can be up to 60% faster and up to 70% more efficient, without a stated method. Reusable configurations carry over between migration rounds, and transfers are encrypted with sensitive fields masked. LeverX also sells a structured S/4HANA migration assessment covering custom code, data volumes and usage, plus migration services with a dedicated team. A 14-day guided trial is offered on request.

Potential strengths

  • Works with SAP's own cockpit rather than replacing it, which keeps loads on SAP's standard migration objects where they exist
  • On-premise, cloud and hybrid deployment options and a guided trial lower the barrier to a proof of concept

Trade-offs

  • The product name changed from DataLark, and some pages still use the old name, which can confuse reference checks
  • Customer results on the page are anonymised, such as a cafe and bakery chain, so named references must be requested
Sources and status

Precisely Automate Studio

mid-marketprecisely.com ↗
Consider forFinance, supply chain and master data teams that load legacy data or make mass changes in SAP without IT development, because Precisely documents Excel-based scripts that respect SAP security and business rules
Pricing notesQuote-based: the Automate Studio page offers a 30-day free trial and demo requests but publishes no rate card (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateFormerly Winshuttle Studio: a no-code record, map and run process lets business users post data to SAP from Excel

Precisely Automate Studio was formerly Winshuttle Studio, and Precisely describes it as an Excel-to-SAP platform. Business users run SAP processes and mass data changes from Excel instead of working through SAP screens. The vendor states the tool has more than 20 years of use in SAP automation.

Precisely lists four uses. Data creation covers new master data such as materials, vendors and customers, and transactional data such as journal vouchers and invoices. Data maintenance covers mass changes such as vendor updates or price changes. Data migration covers loading legacy data into SAP during an initial implementation or a merger, and moving data from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. Data integration covers loading Excel data from other sources into SAP and extracting SAP data to other systems.

Scripts follow a record, map and run process with no code. Once built, a script can be deployed to named users or groups who run it from Excel. Precisely states that the tool respects SAP security, user and business rules, and that administrators control who can extract which data. A Fiori automation module extends the same approach to SAPUI5 Fiori apps and SAP GUI for HTML. This matters after a move to S/4HANA, where many tasks shift to Fiori. A Google Sheets option is also listed. A 30-day free trial is offered.

Potential strengths

  • Business users can build and run load scripts themselves, which the L'Occitane quote on the page ties to less dependence on IT
  • The same tool keeps working after go-live for mass changes, data creation and extracts, so it is not a one-off migration cost

Trade-offs

  • Loads run through SAP transactions and Excel, which suits object-by-object loads but not table-level selective transitions of full history
  • The tool does not profile or cleanse data across many sources, so larger programmes still need an ETL or data quality layer
Sources and status

How to choose a vendor

Choose the transition approach before the tool

A greenfield project builds a new S/4HANA system and loads cleaned data into it. A brownfield conversion upgrades the existing system in place. Selective data transition sits between the two and moves chosen company codes, years or objects. SAP's own cockpit is built for greenfield loads. SNP, cbs and EPI-USE Labs centre on selective transition. Syniti, Natuvion and Migravion state support for several approaches.

Check how the tool loads into S/4HANA

Most third-party tools hand data to S/4HANA through SAP's own interfaces. Migravion fills Migration Cockpit templates or staging tables, or loads by OData and RFC. SAP Help states that a third-party ETL tool may fill the cockpit's staging tables only while a migration project is active. Ask each vendor which load path it uses and how errors come back.

Separate the software from the services

Several vendors here also sell the project. cbs, EPI-USE Labs, SNP and Natuvion pair their software with consultants, and Syniti now belongs to Capgemini. That can shorten a project, but it makes the licence cost hard to isolate. Ask for software and services to be quoted as separate lines.

Frequently asked questions

What are SAP data migration tools?

SAP data migration tools move master data, open items and transaction history from legacy systems into SAP, usually SAP S/4HANA. They extract data from the source, map and transform it to the S/4HANA data model, load it and check the result. Some also profile and cleanse data, plan the cutover, protect sensitive fields and retire the old system. The eight products here cover different parts of that chain.

Is the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit free?

SAP publishes no separate price for the cockpit. It is part of SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Help states that the DMIS add-on needed in the source system for direct transfer is included in the S/4HANA licence. The cost of a cockpit-only approach is mainly project effort: preparing and cleansing data, filling templates or staging tables, and testing loads.

How much do SAP data migration tools cost?

None of the eight vendors published a price figure in October 2026. Syniti, SNP, Natuvion, cbs and EPI-USE Labs quote on request and usually sell software alongside consulting. Migravion offers a 14-day guided trial and Precisely a 30-day free trial, but neither lists a rate. EPI-USE Labs offers a free automated assessment. Buyers should ask for software and services as separate lines.

What is selective data transition?

Selective data transition moves a chosen part of an SAP system to S/4HANA rather than converting everything or starting empty. A project can move selected company codes or years, change the chart of accounts during the move or leave divested data behind. SNP Kyano CrystalBridge, cbs ET and EPI-USE Labs PRISM centre on this route, and Syniti and Natuvion also support it.

Which tools handle non-SAP legacy sources?

Syniti, Natuvion and Migravion describe extraction from SAP and non-SAP sources such as databases, spreadsheets and other ERP systems. cbs ET offers an Any-to-SAP option. The Migration Cockpit's direct transfer works only from SAP ERP 6.0 or later, so non-SAP data goes through templates or staging tables. SNP CrystalBridge and EPI-USE Labs PRISM are aimed mainly at SAP-to-SAP moves.

Can a third-party tool feed the SAP Migration Cockpit?

Yes, within limits. SAP Help states that a third-party ETL tool may fill the cockpit's staging tables in a dedicated schema. Those tables may only be used by the cockpit, and only while a migration project is active. Migravion documents this path, along with template files and OData or RFC loads for objects the cockpit does not cover.

How is downtime kept low during cutover?

Vendors use shadow or delta migration, moving most data in advance and only recent changes during the final window. Natuvion documents shadow and delta migration in DCS Migrate. SNP and cbs both state near-zero downtime, and cbs cites a few hours. These are vendor statements, so buyers should ask for cutover timings from a reference project of similar size.

How should buyers read vendor performance claims?

As vendor statements. Figures such as 314% ROI, 38% lower migration cost, up to 30% savings or 60% faster projects come from vendor pages or vendor-cited studies without a method shown on the page. A trial load of one or two objects from real source data, or a reference call with a customer of similar size, gives a better test.
