These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.
Test automation tools for SAP run regression checks against SAP business processes so that transports, support packs, release upgrades and S/4HANA migrations do not break order-to-cash, procure-to-pay or payroll. The choice for an SAP team turns on four questions: which SAP interfaces are in scope (SAP GUI, Fiori or both), who will build and maintain the tests, how the tool decides what to retest after a change, and whether processes continue into non-SAP systems.
This page is written for SAP test managers, functional consultants and release managers. Vendors were selected separately from the general test automation tools comparison, which covers Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Tricentis Tosca and other general-purpose tools. Every product here documents SAP-specific testing or is built by SAP. Information comes from each vendor’s own product, documentation and pricing pages, checked on 11 October 2026. Entries appear with dated source checks first; the order is not a ranking.
Related pages cover test automation tools for Salesforce, codeless test automation platforms and SAP GRC tools.

Worksoft Certify is a codeless test automation product for enterprise business processes, and SAP is the application family Worksoft documents in the most depth. Its SAP page names S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Concur, Hybris, Ariba, Fiori and Cloud ALM, and presents process discovery, documentation and testing as one programme for S/4HANA migrations. Certify learns an application's screens into application maps and uses those objects to build tests, and the documentation explains how to configure SAP GUI and the SAP application server for this.
The integrations page lists SAP S/4HANA releases 1909 to 2022, SAP ECC 6.0 and current SuccessFactors releases, with pre-built SAP test assets and automatic recognition of SAP GUI objects. It also lists support for applications built on SAP Business Technology Platform. Certify integrates with SAP Solution Manager 7.1 and 7.2, where a user guide describes creating, editing and running Certify processes from Solution Manager test configurations, and with SAP Cloud ALM for test case sync, execution and defect tracking.
Outside SAP, Worksoft lists Oracle, mainframe, web and SaaS applications, and integrations with Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Xray and Panaya's change intelligence platform. Panaya sells testing for enterprise applications, and SAP is its oldest and most detailed market. The SAP testing page describes one SaaS platform that unites test management, change impact analysis and AI-driven, no-code automation, for projects before, during or after a move to S/4HANA, on premises or in the cloud, and on SAP GUI or Fiori. Panaya states that more than 3,500 brands use its products.
The change analysis component pinpoints the business scenarios affected by a change so that teams can test what changed rather than everything. Panaya states this can cut SAP testing cycles by up to 85%; that is a vendor claim. Test management is built for collaboration between business and IT users, with real-time progress, defect and user tracking on customisable dashboards. Panaya also captures the interactions of SAP Fiori and GUI users as automatic test evidence, which it positions for audit and compliance documentation.
The main reason to shortlist Panaya is that it treats SAP testing as a business process exercise with many manual and acceptance testers, rather than an automation-engineering one. Its product for SAP test management is called Test Dynamix. Worksoft lists an integration with Panaya's change intelligence platform, so the two are sometimes used together. No prices are published.
Potential strengths
- Captures SAP Fiori and GUI user interactions as audit-ready test evidence
- Built for business and IT collaboration, which suits user acceptance testing with business users
Trade-offs
- No published prices or pricing page
- Panaya's figure of up to 85% fewer test cycles is a vendor claim that StatWharf has not tested

Opkey is a no-code test automation and application lifecycle platform for packaged enterprise applications. Its SAP page states that Opkey comes with more than 500 pre-built, automated SAP tests across FICO, MM, SD and PP, which can be applied to a customer's environment to increase coverage quickly. Opkey states it supports more than 12 packaged applications and 150 technologies, so a test can follow a process from SAP into another system without a second tool.
For maintenance, Opkey describes an SAP test builder that handles both NetWeaver and Fiori screens, and AI-powered impact analysis with every transport request and SAP update that flags which scripts need attention before changes are pushed. For S/4HANA migrations, a migration assessment tool helps define the scope of testing. Opkey also states that its customers push 40% more SAP transport requests to production; this is a vendor-reported figure that StatWharf has not checked.
Opkey's wider platform lists SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SuccessFactors and Fiori among natively supported applications, with natural-language test generation, self-healing scripts, AI root cause analysis and a library of more than 30,000 pre-built ERP tests across its supported applications. It also generates training guides from test runs. The quote page asks buyers to fill in a form for a personalised price.
Potential strengths
- Pre-built test library shortens the ramp-up for S/4HANA regression suites
- Covers SAP alongside Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, Coupa and ServiceNow in one platform
Trade-offs
- No published prices
- Much of Opkey's current marketing is aimed at Oracle and Workday, so SAP is one of several focus applications

ACCELQ is a cloud-based, codeless test automation and test management platform for web, mobile, API, desktop and packaged applications. Its SAP page promotes pre-built no-code SAP test assets, described as SAP Universe, which model test assets as business processes, and states that a live cloud link updates automation assets in line with SAP releases. The page names ERP, financial management, supply chain, spend management and human capital management among covered SAP areas.
The support documentation shows how SAP GUI automation works in practice. ACCELQ offers two ways to identify SAP elements: label-based commands that click or type into a field by its visible label without any captured element, and smart locators captured from the SAP GUI object tree for icons, table cells and other unlabelled controls. ACCELQ recommends label-based commands where possible because they survive most UI changes. SAP GUI automation requires SAP scripting enabled on both server and client and a running ACCELQ RPA server.
Tests can combine SAP steps with web, API, mobile and back-end steps in one flow, and ACCELQ lists CI integration for regression runs and coverage traceability. The pricing page lists Automate Web, Mobile, API, Manual and Unified plans with no figures. On-premise deployment requires at least 10 licences, and support is included in the annual subscription.
Potential strengths
- Label-based SAP GUI commands reduce locator maintenance after SAP UI changes
- One test can cross SAP, web, API, mobile and desktop applications
Trade-offs
- No published prices for any automation plan
- SAP GUI automation needs SAP scripting enabled on server and client and an ACCELQ RPA server running

Leapwork is a visual, no-code test automation platform in which tests are built by connecting building blocks on a canvas rather than writing scripts. Its SAP page presents the product as continuous validation for ongoing SAP change and for the move from ECC to S/4HANA, covering functional, regression and data-driven testing across SAP and connected systems, with cloud services and on-premises agents in one platform.
For SAP GUI, the documentation lists eight dedicated building blocks. They open SAP GUI and connect to a named environment or connection string, log in with a username and password or Active Directory single sign-on, act on SAP controls and start additional sessions on an existing connection. SAP Fiori and other browser-based SAP applications are automated with Leapwork's web blocks, and a support article documents approaches for Fiori dropdowns, vertical scrolling and dynamically loaded data on S/4HANA 2022.
Leapwork positions itself as application-agnostic, listing SAP alongside Oracle, Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Workday and ServiceNow, and SAP lists Leapwork in its partner directory. The pricing page lists no figures and asks buyers to request a custom quote, describing pricing that scales with the automation estate and delivery cadence.
Potential strengths
- Dedicated SAP GUI blocks handle login, single sign-on and multiple sessions
- Visual flowchart-style test design suits testers who do not code
Trade-offs
- No published prices; every purchase starts with a quote request
- Fiori automation uses general web blocks, and Leapwork's support site documents workarounds for some Fiori dropdown and scroll behaviour

OpenText Functional Testing is the current name for UFT One, the long-established functional test automation tool previously sold by Micro Focus. The product page lists SAP GUI, S/4HANA and Fiori under SAP testing, alongside web, desktop, API, mobile and mainframe applications.
SAP support comes through the SAP Solutions Add-ins, which provide test objects, methods and properties for SAP GUI for Windows and for web-based SAP applications. The documentation lists SAP Enterprise Portal, Internet Transaction Server (Web GUI), SAP CRM including the Interaction Center Web Client, SAP SuccessFactors, Web Dynpro for ABAP, NWBC for HTML and SAP Business Networks web applications, with a separate SAPUI5 add-in for Fiori-style interfaces. Testers can add checkpoints, output values and parameters to recorded SAP tests.
OpenText's SAP data sheet describes an SAP-certified integration with the SAP Solution Manager Test Suite, which lets teams create, store, edit and run scripts from Solution Manager and pass parameters and results both ways. It also describes AI and OCR-based object recognition for SAP GUI, web and mobile. Licensing documentation describes seat and concurrent licences, sold as perpetual or subscription, plus cheaper runtime-only licences. The trial installation includes a 30-day demo seat licence. No prices are published.
Potential strengths
- Broad SAP surface: SAP GUI, Fiori and SAPUI5, Web Dynpro for ABAP, CRM, SuccessFactors and SAP Business Networks
- Covers more than 200 non-SAP GUI and API technologies, including mainframe
Trade-offs
- No published prices

Avo Assure is a no-code test automation platform from Avo Automation, a division of SLK Software, which has worked as an SAP implementation partner. Its SAP page covers ECC, Fiori, SuccessFactors and S/4HANA and frames testing as validation of whole business processes across SAP and connected systems, such as onboarding that spans SuccessFactors and ECC or procurement that touches supplier portals and APIs.
The distinctive idea is test creation from what an organisation already holds. Avo describes converting process documentation, functional specifications, manual test cases and legacy test assets into executable automation, which suits S/4HANA migrations where years of manual test knowledge exist. SAP accelerators provide pre-built business processes and reusable components, and Avo's guidance names FICO, Materials Management and Sales and Distribution among the core modules covered. The platform also provides risk analysis of what changed and self-healing to keep tests current across SAP releases.
In 2021 the SAP Integration and Certification Center certified that Avo Assure 2.0 integrates with SAP S/4HANA and SAP NetWeaver using standard integration technologies, and Avo announced in 2025 that Avo Assure is available on SAP Store. Avo Assure also covers Dynamics 365, Oracle and Salesforce. The pricing page publishes no figures and offers plans aligned to the applications in scope. A 14-day free trial requires no credit card.
Potential strengths
- Free 14-day trial without a credit card
- Pre-built SAP accelerators supply business processes and reusable components

Keysight Eggplant, sold as Eggplant Test or Automation Intelligence, is a model-based, AI-assisted test automation platform. It tests at the user interface level using image and text recognition, reading the screen the way a person does, so it works on any application that renders to a screen, including desktop, web, mobile, mainframe and Citrix or virtual desktop sessions.
Keysight's engineering applications page names SAP ERP, S/4HANA and Fiori workflows, tested end to end including Citrix-delivered deployments, without SAP API access. The same page lists Siemens Teamcenter and NX, PTC Windchill and Creo, and Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE. A single test can walk a workflow across Teamcenter, SAP and Windchill, such as a part revision that should sync to an SAP order. This makes Eggplant most relevant to manufacturers whose SAP processes depend on engineering systems, or to organisations that publish SAP through Citrix.
Testers model application states and actions, and Eggplant generates and runs paths through the model, with AI test case generation, API testing and CI integration with Jenkins, Bamboo and GitHub. The trade-off is that image-based tests do not use SAP GUI scripting objects, so SAP-specific features such as Solution Manager integration or pre-built SAP content are not documented. Keysight publishes no prices.
Potential strengths
- Works on SAP delivered through Citrix, where object-based tools often cannot see controls
- One test can follow a workflow from PLM systems such as Teamcenter or Windchill into SAP
Trade-offs
- No published prices
- Image-based testing does not read SAP GUI objects directly, so it offers fewer SAP-specific features than Worksoft or Opkey document
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Billing terms: Quote-based
- Source review: checked Oct 11, 2026

The SAP S/4HANA Cloud Test Automation Tool is SAP's own test automation product, embedded in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. SAP describes it as a low-code, cloud-native UI and API automation solution that comes bundled with the Public Edition and is available to all its customers, so business users and consultants can build regression tests without installing a third-party tool.
SAP's learning material explains that the tool's Test Execution Service runs on SAP's AI platform and performs steps through a simulated user interface with authenticated virtual test users. The tool ships with preconfigured test automates that align with the manual test scripts in SAP Signavio Process Navigator. When a customer customises a process, app or field, the matching automate has to be updated. For standard, unchanged processes, SAP provides Post-Upgrade Tests and, with customer consent, runs them automatically after each release upgrade.
Further features named by SAP include a Test Data Container, an API automated testing framework, a UI control repository and the Intelligent Test Scoper, which proposes a test scope from the code changes in a release. Test plans are created and run in the Public Edition system, and results appear in SAP Cloud ALM next to manual test plans. SAP advises configuration experts to set up each automate as soon as the related process is configured. The tool is documented only for the Public Edition, so landscapes with ECC, private cloud or many non-SAP systems typically pair it with a third-party product.
Potential strengths
- No separate licence for Public Edition customers
- SAP maintains pre-delivered automates and can run Post-Upgrade Tests for standard processes
Trade-offs
- SAP documents it for S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition; it is not presented as a tool for ECC, other SAP products or non-SAP systems
- Customised processes, apps or fields require the customer to update the related automates
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Billing terms: Included in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition subscription

Frequently asked questions
What is a test automation tool for SAP?
It is software that runs repeatable checks against SAP business processes, usually through SAP GUI or SAP Fiori and sometimes through SAP APIs, so that transports, support packs, upgrades and S/4HANA migrations do not break existing processes. SAP-specific tools add support for SAP GUI scripting, Fiori controls, pre-built SAP test content or integration with SAP Solution Manager and SAP Cloud ALM.
Does SAP provide its own test automation tool?
Yes, for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. SAP's Test Automation Tool is embedded in the Public Edition, comes bundled with it and ships with pre-delivered test automates and Post-Upgrade Tests. For other SAP landscapes, tests are commonly managed in SAP Solution Manager or SAP Cloud ALM, and several third-party tools here integrate with them.
Which tools support SAP GUI for Windows as well as Fiori?
Worksoft Certify, OpenText Functional Testing, Leapwork, ACCELQ, Opkey, Panaya and Avo Assure all document SAP GUI and Fiori coverage. Keysight Eggplant tests both through image recognition rather than SAP GUI scripting. SAP's own Test Automation Tool applies to S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, which is Fiori-based.
How much do test automation tools for SAP cost?
Eight of the nine products publish no price and quote on request. SAP's Test Automation Tool is bundled with S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Avo Assure offers a 14-day free trial and OpenText Functional Testing ships with a 30-day demo licence. ACCELQ requires at least 10 licences for on-premise deployment.
Which tools help decide what to test after a transport or upgrade?
Panaya sells change impact analysis that pinpoints affected business scenarios, and Opkey runs AI impact analysis on each transport request and SAP update. SAP's Intelligent Test Scoper proposes a scope from release code changes inside S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Worksoft integrates with Panaya's change intelligence platform for the same purpose.
Which tools integrate with SAP Solution Manager or SAP Cloud ALM?
Worksoft documents integrations with Solution Manager 7.1 and 7.2 and with SAP Cloud ALM. OpenText describes an SAP-certified integration with the Solution Manager Test Suite. SAP's Test Automation Tool shows its results in SAP Cloud ALM. Buyers should confirm the integration version each vendor currently supports.
Which tools fit SAP processes that cross into non-SAP systems?
ACCELQ, Leapwork, Opkey, Avo Assure and Worksoft all document tests that continue from SAP into web, API or other packaged applications. Keysight Eggplant is aimed at workflows between SAP and engineering systems such as Teamcenter and Windchill, including Citrix-delivered applications.
How was this list compiled?
Vendors were chosen for documented SAP fit: an SAP-specific product or testing page, SAP documentation, or an SAP-built tool. None of the ten vendors on the general test automation tools comparison appears here, which is why Tricentis Tosca is not listed. Each vendor's SAP, documentation and pricing pages were read on 11 October 2026. No product was tested hands-on, and no entry is vendor-confirmed.
