Best Employee Experience Platforms (2026): Top 10 Compared
An employee experience platform gives every employee one place to receive company news, find trusted information, reach the tools and services they need, and tell leadership how work is going. The ten products below fall into three groups. Staffbase, Simpplr, Unily, LumApps, Haiilo and Microsoft Viva are intranet-led hubs that combine communications, knowledge, search and integrations. Firstup and Blink lead with targeted communications and a mobile app for frontline and distributed staff. Qualtrics Employee Experience and Perceptyx are listening platforms that turn surveys and feedback into manager action. Only Microsoft Viva and Blink publish per-user prices; the other eight quote, although several describe how their quotes are built.

Employee experience platforms give organisations one place to reach employees, answer their questions and hear what they think. The category grew out of the corporate intranet, but most products now add a mobile app for frontline staff, targeted multichannel campaigns, AI search across other workplace systems, and analytics on reach and sentiment.
The ten platforms compared here split by starting point. Staffbase, Simpplr, Unily, LumApps and Haiilo are intranet-led hubs, and Microsoft Viva adds similar capabilities inside Microsoft 365 and Teams. Firstup and Blink lead with communications to distributed and frontline workforces. Qualtrics Employee Experience and Perceptyx are listening platforms that turn surveys and feedback into action for managers.
Every entry was checked against the vendor’s own pages in September 2026. Microsoft Viva and Blink publish per-user prices. Haiilo publishes a starting price for its advocacy product only. The other vendors quote, and Staffbase, Unily, Firstup and Qualtrics describe how their quotes are built.

Vendor details and trade-offs
Staffbase positions itself as an AI-native employee experience platform that connects communications, HR and IT. Its channels are an employee app for frontline staff, a governed intranet for desk-based employees, targeted email campaigns, an AI assistant that answers questions from company knowledge, and digital signage for physical spaces.
The platform places weight on governance. Content carries an owner, purpose and review standard, and automated workflows are meant to keep policies and pages current. Staffbase also supports frontline-only deployments, with features for workers who have no corporate email and shift-based access.
Pricing is built on request. The pricing page describes three typical shapes: a frontline workforce on dedicated frontline pricing, a whole workforce with mixed desk and frontline licensing, and complex enterprises with multiple brands or regions that need separate governance. Staffbase states it serves more than 1,500 enterprise customers and that a typical launch takes about 90 days from signed contract; both figures are the vendor's own.
Potential strengths
- Customers can start with one channel, such as the employee app, and add intranet, email or signage later
- Documented support for multi-brand and federated permission models
Trade-offs
- No published price or plan list
- The vendor's stated typical go-live is 90 days from contract, depending on configuration

Simpplr sells an AI-powered intranet that it describes as an employee experience platform. The product has three parts: an AI intranet that acts as a personalised hub for communications, engagement and everyday tasks; AI search that brings siloed data into one search box with direct answers; and AI agents that take routine requests off employees and support teams.
Solution areas cover employee communications delivered to wherever staff work, employee engagement with recognition features, and employee empowerment through AI that works within a governed system. Simpplr highlights analyst recognition, including a Leader placement in The Forrester Wave for intranet platforms in Q2 2026 and repeated Leader placements in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for intranet packaged solutions.
The pricing page does not list tiers. Quotes depend on organisation size, complexity and support level, and the standard subscription includes technical support, customer success oversight and training. Simpplr states more than 1,000 customers and 2 million active users, which are vendor figures.
Potential strengths
- Support, customer success and training are included in the subscription
- Recognition and engagement tools sit alongside the intranet
Trade-offs
- No published price or plan tiers
- Premium success and global support options cost extra

Unily is an enterprise intranet and employee experience platform that the company says draws on 20 years of experience. Its pricing page lays out the commercial model more clearly than most in the category, even though it publishes no figures.
The Base Package includes Indi, an AI agent that helps administrators and contributors design and publish experiences, plus knowledge bases, targeted communications, broadcast email, video, AI media tools, profiles, communities, events, analytics, and integrations with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and HR, CRM and ITSM systems. Standard deployments include a production site and a staging site.
Add-ons extend the base. Campaigns automate multichannel communications, Journeys guide employees through lifecycle moments, Platform Extensibility offers APIs and SDKs, and Unily Glass lets employees search and transact across connected systems through a conversational interface. Deployment add-ons include extra staging environments and dedicated hardware for isolation or residency needs. Standard support is included, with Premium Support and a Professional Services retainer sold separately.
Potential strengths
- Base Package includes production and staging sites and states WCAG 2.1 AA, ISO 27001 and SOC 1 and 2 compliance
- Both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace integrations are in the Base Package
Trade-offs
- No published price for the Base Package or any add-on
- Campaigns and Journeys, common communications needs, are add-ons rather than base features

LumApps describes itself as an AI employee hub that connects people, tools, AI agents and knowledge. It started as an intranet closely integrated with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, and it now states that Beekeeper, a mobile-first platform for deskless workers founded in 2012, is part of LumApps.
The hub covers four areas. Communications and collaboration handle targeted news across desktop and mobile. Work and automation replaces paper forms and manual handoffs with no-code workflows, digital forms and task management. People and growth connects onboarding journeys, microlearning, recognition and HR self-service. Integrations link Microsoft, Google, ServiceNow, Workday and more than 50 no-code app connectors.
LumApps states that it serves more than 750 clients and Beekeeper more than 1,500, both vendor figures. Target industries on the LumApps side include banking, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics and the public sector; Beekeeper's include hospitality, retail and construction. No price list is published.
Potential strengths
- Documents integrations with Microsoft, Google, ServiceNow and Workday plus 50 or more no-code connectors

Microsoft Viva is a set of employee experience apps built into Microsoft 365 and Teams. Viva Connections provides a company-branded home for news and resources, Viva Engage hosts communities and conversations, Viva Amplify manages multichannel communication campaigns, Viva Glint runs organisation-wide surveys, Viva Pulse lets managers send quick surveys, Viva Insights reports on how work gets done, and Viva Learning brings learning content into Teams.
Microsoft sells three paid bundles. Employee Communications and Communities adds premium communities, questions and answers, multiple branded destinations and campaign management. Workplace Analytics and Employee Feedback adds organisational insights, Glint surveys, Pulse and measures of AI adoption. The Viva Suite combines both and adds learning recommendations and tracking.
Licensing rules matter. Amplify needs a licence for anyone creating or receiving campaigns, Glint needs one to create or respond to surveys, and Pulse needs one only to create surveys. Existing customers add Viva through their Microsoft representative.
Potential strengths
- Published per-user prices on all three paid bundles
- Viva Engage communities and conversations are available to Microsoft 365 enterprise and frontline users without a separate licence
Trade-offs
- Requires a qualifying Microsoft 365, Office 365 or SharePoint licence
- Several features depend on Microsoft Teams, and advanced Copilot Dashboard features need a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence

Haiilo is an employee experience platform built around an intranet and employee app, with a separate employee advocacy product for sharing company content on social networks. The pricing page describes the intranet as four building blocks rather than fixed tiers.
Engage is the AI-powered intranet and app, with documents, wikis, communities, a people directory, a personalised timeline and homepage, auto-translation in 28 languages and peer-to-peer chat. Align covers communications: audiences, targeting, scheduling, newsletters, digital signage, read receipts and Microsoft Teams and Slack integrations. Measure adds intranet, communication, sentiment and search analytics. AVA is the AI assistant, with search across systems, writing help and spoken articles.
Optional extensions include Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace integrations, HR integrations, enterprise search, advanced branding and private cloud deployments. Haiilo states that most customers start around 500 employees and that it serves healthcare, retail, manufacturing, financial services and technology.
Potential strengths
- Volume pricing lowers per-user cost across a whole workforce
- Private cloud deployment option and Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 integrations
Trade-offs
- No published intranet price

Firstup describes itself as an intelligent communication platform. Its focus is getting the right message to the right employee at the right moment across email, a mobile app, desktop and embedded widgets, with particular attention to frontline workers spread across shifts and locations.
The pricing page publishes tier contents without figures. Essential covers attribute-based audiences, drag-and-drop editing, delivery to several channels from one post and automatic retargeting. Professional adds AI content creation, intelligent delivery that picks the channel and time for each employee, employee-generated posts, embedded widgets and translation. Premier adds automated journeys triggered by an employee's situation, a flow builder, journey templates and journey-level metrics. An intranet add-on provides landing pages, quick links, document search and a people directory.
Firstup cites a Forrester Total Economic Impact study reporting a 398% return, modelled for a 10,000-employee organisation over three years from interviews with eight decision-makers. Firstup presents that figure on its own site.
Potential strengths
- Tier contents are published even though prices are not
- Publish once and deliver to email, mobile app and desktop
Trade-offs
- No published price for any tier
- The intranet is an add-on rather than part of the base tiers

Blink is a mobile-first employee app built for companies whose staff are often away from a desk. It combines a social-style feed, chat and collaboration, and a knowledge hub, with company branding applied inside the app.
Core is aimed at small businesses and covers content creation, scheduled campaigns, featured and priority posts, mandatory reads with acknowledgement tracking and reminders, AI translation, and the collaboration suite. Pro adds richer configuration, events and live-streaming integration with Vimeo and YouTube, multi-language publishing, user provisioning, an AI assistant and priority support. Enterprise adds advanced permissions, API access and deeper integrations, compliance and security features, employee feedback surveys, enterprise SLAs, search across integrated tools and a dedicated customer success manager.
Blink is one of only two vendors on this page with published prices, and it offers a free trial. The price gap between Core and Pro is small, so buyers should look at which Pro features, such as provisioning, they need.
Potential strengths
- Published monthly and annual prices on two self-serve tiers
- AI translation in more than 30 languages
Trade-offs
- Employee feedback surveys sit only in the quoted Enterprise tier
- API access and deeper integrations are also Enterprise-only

Qualtrics Employee Experience is the workforce side of the Qualtrics experience management platform. Unlike the intranet-led products on this page, it does not deliver news or knowledge to employees. It collects feedback from them and helps managers and executives act on it.
Documented products include employee engagement and pulse surveys, employee lifecycle management for onboarding and exit, 360 development feedback, candidate experience, lifecycle intelligence that follows people from candidate to exit, and enhanced actioning that analyses large volumes of comments to surface trending issues. Managers receive personalised insights and recommended actions, and executives receive workforce reporting.
The pricing page shows two employee experience packages: one for leaders focused on engagement, productivity and attrition cost, and one for talent acquisition and development leaders optimising the employee journey. Both are priced by employee count. Qualtrics also sells customer experience products, and its Connected Experiences capability links the two data sets.
Potential strengths
- Covers candidate, onboarding, exit, 360 and continuous listening programmes
- AI comment analysis and personalised manager action recommendations
Trade-offs
- No published figures for either package
- A listening platform, not an intranet or communications channel
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Not recorded; pricing metric is employee count
- Source review: checked Sep 26, 2026

Perceptyx sells what it calls the People Activation System, three product families on one data model. The emphasis is on what happens after a survey closes, not only on the survey itself.
Discover is the listening layer. It combines point-in-time surveys, lifecycle surveys, 360 feedback, crowdsourcing and voting, and a conversational listening agent that turns static surveys into two-way conversations. AI ranks behaviours and friction points by predicted business impact. Activate generates action plans for people leaders and delivers nudges and coaching conversations through Microsoft Teams, Slack, email and mobile tools used by frontline staff. Develop turns existing learning content into one-on-one conversational sessions that score comprehension against learning objectives.
Perceptyx says the system draws on more than 20 years of benchmarked workforce data and integrates with Teams, Slack, Workday and other HR platforms. It markets itself to Fortune 1000 organisations and does not publish pricing.
Potential strengths
- Surveys, lifecycle listening, 360s and crowdsourcing feed one analysis engine
- Lists SOC 2 Type II, HITRUST, FedRAMP authorisation and ISO 27001
Trade-offs
- No published price
- Aimed at large enterprises rather than small teams

Frequently asked questions
What is an employee experience platform?
An employee experience platform is software that shapes how employees receive information, find what they need and give feedback at work. In practice the term covers intranet-led hubs that combine news, knowledge, search and integrations, communications platforms that reach employees on mobile, email and desktop, and listening platforms that run engagement and lifecycle surveys. Many products now combine two or more of these jobs.
How much do employee experience platforms cost?
Most vendors quote. On this page only two publish per-user prices: Microsoft Viva bundles cost $2, $6 or $12 per user a month paid yearly on top of qualifying Microsoft 365 licences, and Blink costs $3.75 or $5.00 per user a month billed annually. Haiilo publishes a $15 per seat starting price for its separate advocacy product. Staffbase, Simpplr, Unily, LumApps, Firstup, Qualtrics and Perceptyx quote.
What is the difference between an employee experience platform and an intranet?
A traditional intranet is a website for company news, documents and links. Employee experience platforms extend that with a mobile app for frontline staff, targeted campaigns, AI search across other systems, workflows and service requests, and analytics on reach and sentiment. Unily, Simpplr, LumApps and Haiilo started as intranets and now describe themselves as employee experience platforms.
What is the difference between an employee experience platform and employee engagement software?
Employee engagement software is centred on surveys, action planning and manager feedback. Employee experience platforms, as most vendors use the term, are centred on communications, knowledge and the daily digital workplace. Qualtrics and Perceptyx sit on the listening side and appear here because they sell their products as employee experience platforms. Survey-led tools are compared in more depth on the employee engagement software page.
Which employee experience platforms suit frontline workers?
Staffbase offers dedicated frontline pricing and supports frontline-only deployments. LumApps now includes Beekeeper's mobile-first frontline platform. Blink is a mobile-first app with low per-user prices. Firstup is built to reach workers across shifts and sites. Haiilo states that it is designed for distributed workforces with frontline employees. Buyers should confirm how workers without a company email address sign in.
Does Microsoft Viva replace a dedicated employee experience platform?
It depends on the organisation. Viva is attractive when every employee already holds a qualifying Microsoft 365 licence, because some features are included and the paid bundles have published prices. Dedicated platforms such as Staffbase, Unily, Simpplr and Haiilo integrate with Microsoft 365 and typically offer more control over branding, frontline apps and governance. Buyers should compare total cost, not only the per-user price.
How long does it take to launch an employee experience platform?
Timelines vary with scope. Staffbase states a typical 90 days from signed contract to a fully branded launch, depending on configuration. Unily says experiences can be launched in minutes once the platform is running, but enterprise deployments with integrations, migration and governance take longer. Self-serve products such as Blink offer a free trial and can start sooner.
How were these employee experience platforms selected?
The page includes vendors that sell their product as an employee experience platform, intranet or employee communications platform, each with a live product page and a public pricing or documentation page checked in September 2026. Order follows source readiness and content sequence, not quality. Vendors not listed can contact [email protected].
