These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.

AI call center software is a cloud contact center platform that routes voice and digital customer interactions to human agents and adds AI across the interaction. Common AI features include virtual agents that resolve routine requests, real-time agent assist that suggests answers during calls, automatic summaries, speech and sentiment analytics, AI-scored quality management and workforce forecasting. These products are often called contact center as a service, or CCaaS.

The eight platforms compared here fall into three groups. Genesys Cloud CX, NICE CXone Mpower and Five9 are enterprise contact center suites with workforce engagement and extensive AI. Talkdesk, RingCentral RingCX, Zoom Contact Center and 8x8 Contact Center serve mid-sized teams, often alongside a business phone or video platform. Amazon Connect is a usage-priced service with no seat licences. This page covers full contact center platforms; standalone AI voice agent builders are compared on the AI voice agents page. All pricing notes were checked in September 2026. Entries with dated source checks appear first; that records research readiness, not product quality or a ranking.

Genesys Cloud CX

Consider forMid-sized and large contact centers that want voice, digital channels, workforce engagement and AI copilots on one platform, with four published per-user tiers
Pricing notesGenesys Cloud CX 1 US$75, CX 2 US$115, CX 3 US$155 and CX 4 US$240 per user per month; certain AI features consume AI Experience tokens, with 250 named or 350 concurrent tokens per organization per month included (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateAgent Copilot, Supervisor Copilot, virtual agents, predictive routing and speech and text analytics are listed on every tier, from the voice-only CX 1 upward

Genesys Cloud CX is a cloud contact center platform that covers voice, digital channels, routing, outbound campaigns, workforce engagement and AI features in one product. Genesys describes the platform as AI-powered experience orchestration, and its pricing page states that all plans are natively enabled with ready-to-use Genesys Cloud AI capabilities.

Four editions are published. Genesys Cloud CX 1 costs US$75 per user per month and is aimed at voice contact centers. It includes the voice channel, call routing, speech-enabled IVR, outbound campaigns, analytics and reporting, unified communications, voice and digital interaction recording with screen recording, virtual agents, a native voicebot, predictive routing, Agent Copilot, Supervisor Copilot, speech and text analytics and a virtual supervisor. On CX 1, digital channels, omnichannel routing and workforce engagement are add-ons.

Genesys Cloud CX 2 costs US$115 per user per month and adds digital channels, omnichannel routing, quality assurance and compliance, knowledge, native bots, predictive engagement and social listening and engagement. Genesys Cloud CX 3 costs US$155 per user per month and adds employee performance, workforce management, and forecasting and scheduling. Genesys Cloud CX 4 costs US$240 per user per month and adds journey management, resource management and 30 AI Experience tokens per named agent.

The token model matters for AI budgets. The comparison table on the pricing page marks AI Studio, AI Guides, virtual agents and native bots as token-consuming on every edition. Each organization receives 250 named or 350 concurrent tokens per month, and Genesys asks buyers to contact sales to size additional quantities. A contact center planning heavy self-service automation should therefore model token consumption alongside seat prices.

Genesys Cloud CX fits organizations that want AI assistance for agents and supervisors, automated self-service and workforce management from a single vendor, and that prefer published list prices as a starting point for negotiation.

Potential strengths

  • All four tier prices are published
  • Every tier lists Agent Copilot, Supervisor Copilot and a native voicebot
  • CX 3 and CX 4 include workforce management, forecasting and scheduling

Trade-offs

  • Virtual agents, native bots, AI Studio and AI Guides draw on AI Experience tokens, so AI cost depends on usage
  • Digital channels and omnichannel routing are add-ons on CX 1

Workforce empowerment covers workforce engagement and real-time intelligence for employees. The third layer covers automation of customer intent through fulfillment. The AI platform layer includes an agent workspace, a supervisor workspace, prebuilt dashboards and BI reports, prebuilt CRM integrations and unified communications through NICE 1CX. Buyers can also bring their own transcription, knowledge base, agent assistant or virtual agent.

NICE also publishes industry packages. The Ultimate Banking Experience, at US$249 per agent per month plus US$0.25 per session, includes a banking engagement hub, customer self-service automation trained on financial use cases, voice biometrics and secure messaging, bank agent assist and industry experience insights. The Ultimate Insurance Experience at the same price covers policyholder self-service automation, a proactive engagement AI agent and insurance agent assist. The page also references packages for healthcare and government.

NICE CXone Mpower fits larger contact centers, particularly in regulated sectors, that want a single platform for routing, workforce engagement and AI automation and prefer billing in arrears to prepaid commitments.

Potential strengths

  • Five suite prices are published per agent per month
  • Monthly billing in arrears with no prepay is stated on the pricing page
  • Bring-your-own options for transcription, knowledge base, agent assistant and virtual agent

Trade-offs

  • The Ultimate Suite and industry packages add a per-session charge
  • The pricing page groups features by suite without a line-by-line matrix in the fetched copy

Digital Essentials costs US$85 per user per month and covers digital engagement through email, chat, SMS and social messaging, together with CXA, Studio and routing, connections, API access, live real-time dashboards and Guardian. Voice Essentials costs US$105 per user per month and covers voice engagement, speech recognition, voicemail transcription, Studio and routing, business intelligence through Explore, and API access. Elite costs US$165 per user per month and adds custom reporting with Live and Explore, screen recording, performance management, workforce management and automated notifications. Industry Experience Clouds cost US$225 per user per month and add editions for financial services, insurance, healthcare and life sciences, retail and consumer goods, travel and hospitality, utilities and commercial and residential services. A government edition is custom priced.

Talkdesk Express is restricted to the United States and Canada and to businesses with fewer than 50 employees. It includes 25 licenses and US$100 in free credit, and the page states that no commitment or contract is required.

The AI products are described separately. Talkdesk Copilot listens to conversations and suggests next best actions, surfaces answers from the knowledge base, summarizes interactions at wrap-up and supports AI translation. Talkdesk Autopilot is an agentic virtual assistant for voice or digital channels that can resolve issues, complete tasks and trigger workflows. Talkdesk Navigator routes customers using natural conversation and real-time context. Interaction and Quality Analytics transcribes and analyzes all interactions for topics, intent and sentiment, and Talkdesk Identity provides voice biometrics for caller authentication.

Potential strengths

  • Four plan prices are published
  • Separate Voice and Digital Essentials plans let buyers pay for one engagement type

Amazon Connect

aws.amazon.com ↗
Consider forOrganizations already on AWS that want a pay-per-use contact center with agentic self-service, agent assist and forecasting, without seat licenses
Pricing notesAmazon Connect Customer: voice US$0.038 per minute plus standard telephony rates, chat US$0.010 per message, email US$0.080 per email, SMS and third-party messaging US$0.014 per message; rates vary by region (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateNo seat-based licensing: AI agents, agent assist, forecasting and scheduling, and conversational analytics are listed as included in per-interaction pricing

Amazon Connect is the cloud contact center service from Amazon Web Services. The pricing page refers to the AI-enabled offering as Amazon Connect Customer and states that it has no minimums, no long-term contracts, no capacity constraints and no seat-based licensing requirements. A separate Customer Basic option is mentioned for organizations not ready for AI.

Pricing is per interaction. Voice costs US$0.038 per minute, with standard telephony rates applying on top. Chat costs US$0.010 per message sent or received, email US$0.080 per email sent or received, and SMS and third-party messaging US$0.014 per message sent or received. AWS notes that pricing may vary by region, communication type and third-party provider.

The page groups the included capabilities in three areas. Building and deploying agents covers agentic self-service, pre-built AI agents, an AI agent designer and unified observability, testing and simulation. Workforce capabilities include real-time agent assist, manager assist in preview, forecasting and agent scheduling, performance evaluations, automated coaching feedback, screen recording and post-contact summaries. Intelligence and automation covers predictive insights, conversational analytics, custom metrics in dashboards and APIs, unified customer data, proactive and outbound engagement, and back-office automation in preview.

Customer quotes on the pricing page emphasize that AI capability is included in the platform cost. One customer states that the unlimited AI price replaced separate workforce management and quality management tools. These are vendor-published testimonials rather than independent measurements.

The consumption model changes how buyers compare cost. A seat-based platform charges the same for an idle agent as for a busy one, while Amazon Connect charges for minutes and messages. Contact centers with seasonal or uneven volume may find this attractive, while steady high-volume operations should model monthly minutes against seat-based alternatives. Implementation typically draws on AWS skills, and AWS Professional Services is offered for deployment support.

Amazon Connect fits organizations with AWS expertise that want usage-based pricing and AI self-service without per-agent licences.

Potential strengths

  • Per-minute and per-message rates are published
  • No minimums, long-term contracts or seat licences
  • AI self-service, agent assist and workforce features listed as included

Trade-offs

  • Telephony is charged separately at standard rates
  • Costs scale with volume, so budgeting requires traffic forecasts

Elite costs US$145 per user per month paid annually, or US$165 monthly, and adds AI Supervisor Assist, AI Interaction Analytics and AI Workforce Management.

Enterprise Contact Center is quote-based. It covers voice and more than 30 digital channels with advanced omnichannel routing, feedback management, advanced quality management, advanced workforce management and advanced interaction analytics. For self-service, RingCentral lists IVA partner solutions or its AI Receptionist, which the RingEX pricing page describes as an AI IVR with call routing, appointment booking and lead capture.

Individual AI modules are also priced separately. AI Quality Management, AI Interaction Analytics, AI Agent Assist and AI Supervisor Assist are each listed from US$25 per user per month. This lets a Standard customer add a single capability without moving the whole team to a higher tier.

Frequently asked questions

What is AI call center software?

AI call center software is a cloud contact center platform, often called CCaaS, that routes voice and digital interactions to agents and adds AI features. Typical AI features include virtual agents for self-service, real-time agent assist, automatic call summaries, speech and sentiment analytics, AI quality management and forecasting. This page covers full contact center platforms. Standalone voice agent builders are compared on the AI voice agents page.

How is AI call center software priced?

Most platforms charge per agent per month. Published list prices checked in September 2026 start at US$65 for RingCX Standard, US$75 for Genesys Cloud CX 1, US$85 for Talkdesk Digital Essentials, US$110 for NICE CXone Mpower and US$119 for Five9 Digital. Amazon Connect charges per minute and per message instead. Zoom Contact Center and 8x8 require confirmation or a quote.

Are AI features included in the seat price?

It varies. Genesys lists AI features on every tier but meters virtual agents and bots through AI Experience tokens. Five9 includes 3,000 AI minutes per bundled seat. RingCX includes AI summaries on Standard and adds agent assist on Professional. Zoom sells Virtual Agent as an add-on, and Amazon Connect lists AI capabilities as included in usage pricing.

What is the difference between AI call center software and an AI voice agent?

An AI voice agent answers and handles calls autonomously. AI call center software is the wider platform that routes calls and messages, runs queues, records interactions, manages agents and reports on performance, with voice agents as one feature. Buyers who only need an automated phone agent can compare products on the AI voice agents page.

Which platforms suit smaller teams?

Five9 states a 50-seat minimum, and NICE and Genesys target larger operations. RingCX publishes monthly and annual prices from US$65 per user. Talkdesk Express is aimed at US and Canadian businesses with fewer than 50 employees and has no contract. Amazon Connect has no minimums, which suits uneven volume.

Can a contact center keep its existing workforce management vendor?

Some platforms allow this. Five9 lets buyers choose its own workforce engagement tools or existing partners Verint and Calabrio. NICE lists bring-your-own options for transcription, knowledge base, agent assistant and virtual agent. Others, such as Genesys CX 3 and CX 4 and RingCX Elite, bundle workforce management into higher tiers.

How should buyers compare usage-based and seat-based pricing?

Seat pricing charges the same for each licensed agent regardless of volume, while usage pricing charges per minute or message. Amazon Connect is fully usage-based, NICE's Ultimate Suite adds a per-session fee, and Genesys meters some AI through tokens. Buyers should model monthly minutes, messages and self-service sessions against seat counts before comparing quotes.

How were these vendors selected and checked?

The page includes contact center platforms with documented AI features for routing, self-service and agent assistance. Each vendor's pricing page was retrieved in September 2026. Where prices were not printed or did not render, the entry says so rather than estimating. No product was tested hands-on, and no vendor confirmed its entry.
