Best Predictive Maintenance Software (2026): Top 10 Compared

Updated October 2026By StatWharf Editorial10 vendorsMethodology

Predictive maintenance software watches the condition of motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, turbines and vehicles, and warns maintenance teams before a part fails. The ten products below fall into three groups. AssetWatch, Shoreline AI, Tractian and Augury sell wireless sensors together with software and, in most cases, remote analysts, so a plant can start without existing instrumentation. IBM Maximo Application Suite, Siemens Senseye Predictive Maintenance, Aspen Mtell, GE Vernova Asset Performance Management and Avathon are analytics platforms that read data from historians, control systems and existing sensors across many assets and sites. Uptake applies the same approach to commercial vehicle fleets using telematics data.

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.

Predictive maintenance software helps maintenance and reliability teams fix equipment shortly before it fails rather than after a breakdown or on a fixed schedule. It collects condition data such as vibration, temperature, pressure and electrical signals, learns what normal operation looks like for each asset, and raises an alert with a severity and recommended action when a fault starts to develop. Work order and maintenance management tools are covered separately and appear here only where a vendor also sells condition-based prediction.

The comparison below covers ten products. Features and pricing come from each vendor’s own product and pricing pages and, for AssetWatch and Shoreline AI, their AWS Marketplace listings, all checked on 11 October 2026. Four entries publish at least one price: IBM Maximo Application Suite, AssetWatch, Shoreline AI and Tractian. The other six provide prices only through a quote, so their profiles record the scope and terms their pages state.

Manufacturing plants can compare Waites, KCF Technologies, Nanoprecise, Samotics, Fiix Asset Risk Predictor and other manufacturing-focused tools in predictive maintenance software for manufacturing.

How to choose a vendor

Decide whether the plant needs new sensors

Sensor-led services such as AssetWatch, Shoreline AI, Tractian and Augury install wireless vibration and temperature sensors and bundle them into the subscription. Platforms such as Aspen Mtell, Senseye, GE Vernova APM and Avathon are sold as analytics software rather than sensor bundles, so buyers should confirm which existing data sources each one connects to. A plant with few instrumented machines usually starts with the first group; a site with years of process data can use the second.

Check who reads the alerts

AssetWatch assigns a dedicated condition monitoring engineer, and Augury validates critical diagnoses with Category III and IV vibration analysts. Shoreline AI describes human-in-the-loop validation alongside self-installed sensors. Enterprise platforms generally expect the customer's reliability engineers to act on model output. Teams without a vibration analyst should confirm which service level a quote includes.

Compare the billing unit, not the headline

Published prices use different units. IBM Maximo sells AppPoints with a yearly package starting price, AssetWatch and Shoreline AI price sensor counts for a 12-month term, and Tractian prices its maintenance software per user per month while quoting sensor bundles. Count critical assets, measurement points and users before comparing figures.

Frequently asked questions

What is predictive maintenance software?

Predictive maintenance software analyses condition data such as vibration, temperature, pressure, oil quality and electrical signals to estimate when a machine or vehicle is likely to fail. It raises alerts with a severity and a suggested action so maintenance can be scheduled before a breakdown, instead of after a failure or on a fixed calendar.

How much does predictive maintenance software cost?

Published figures on this page include IBM Maximo Essentials packages starting under US$40K per year, AssetWatch at $25,000 a year for 50 sensors, Shoreline AI at $30,000 a year for 25 sensors or $59,000 for 50, and Tractian's maintenance software from $60 per user per month with sensor bundles quoted. Augury, Senseye, Aspen Mtell, GE Vernova, Avathon and Uptake are quoted.

What is the difference between condition monitoring and predictive maintenance?

Condition monitoring measures the current state of an asset and alerts when a reading crosses a limit. Predictive maintenance adds models that recognise patterns of degradation and estimate how soon failure is likely, often weeks ahead. Most products on this page do both, and some, such as Aspen Mtell, also prescribe the corrective action.

Does predictive maintenance require new sensors?

Not always. AssetWatch, Shoreline AI, Tractian and Augury supply wireless sensors as part of the subscription. IBM Maximo, Senseye, Aspen Mtell, GE Vernova APM and Avathon are sold as analytics software, so buyers confirm which existing data sources each connects to. Uptake uses data from a fleet's existing telematics provider.

How is predictive maintenance software different from a CMMS?

A computerised maintenance management system schedules and records work orders, parts and labour. Predictive maintenance software decides when work is needed based on asset condition. The two connect: AssetWatch, Shoreline AI, Augury and Aspen Mtell send alerts into CMMS or EAM tools, and IBM Maximo and Tractian sell both in one product family.

Which tools include human analysts?

AssetWatch assigns a dedicated certified condition monitoring engineer, and Augury has Category III and IV vibration analysts validate critical diagnoses. Shoreline AI describes domain experts validating model output. The enterprise analytics platforms generally expect the customer's own reliability engineers to review alerts, often with vendor services sold separately.

Which products changed ownership or name recently?

SparkCognition renamed itself Avathon in October 2024. Emerson completed its acquisition of the remaining AspenTech shares in March 2025, so Aspen Mtell is now an Emerson-owned product. Senseye is sold under the Siemens name. In March 2026 Bosch announced a planned acquisition of Uptake.
