Payment reconciliation software matches what a business expected to be paid against what processors, banks, card schemes and marketplaces actually settled, after fees, refunds and chargebacks. The ten products here fall into three groups. Optimus, Simetrik, Ledge and Osfin match payment, processor and bank data for merchants, payment companies and fintechs, and all four price by quote. FSS Recon AI and AutoRek serve banks, issuers, acquirers and regulated payment firms. These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.
Payment reconciliation software confirms that every payment a business expected actually settled, in the right amount, after processor fees, refunds, chargebacks and marketplace deductions. It pulls order data, processor and scheme reports, marketplace settlements and bank statements, matches them, and sends breaks to a person to resolve. Buyers also search for it as settlement reconciliation software, transaction matching software or marketplace payment reconciliation tools.
The ten products compared here fall into three groups. Optimus, Simetrik, Ledge and Osfin reconcile processor, bank and ERP data for merchants, payment companies and fintechs. FSS Recon AI and AutoRek serve banks, issuers, acquirers and regulated payment firms. Cointab, UniReco, A2X and Synder serve finance teams and online sellers working with gateway payouts and marketplace settlements. All pricing notes were checked in October 2026. Optimus describes itself as a payment-to-close platform for enterprises and financial institutions. It ingests data from payment processors, banks, settlement files, point-of-sale systems and internal records, standardizes it into one financial model and matches related transactions across systems. Exceptions are routed for resolution, and missed payments and chargebacks are flagged.
The three plans share one platform and differ in how much of the payment lifecycle they automate. Foundation covers up to five data sources with configurable matching and core fee validation. Velocity adds AI reconciliation agents, N-way matching, contract and rate validation, automated ledgering with ERP posting and a close-readiness dashboard. Infinity adds unlimited sources, multi-entity and multi-currency reconciliation, private single-tenant cloud and a full financial close module.
The homepage carries attributed quotes from ACI Worldwide and T-Mobile, and a case study in which Tillo describes operations across 36 countries. Optimus states it is SOC 2 Type II audited and PCI DSS Level 1 certified.

Simetrik positions itself as financial control infrastructure. Its reconciliation engine matches transactions at record level across counterparties, ingests sources in any format, interprets data structures and applies business rules. A financial operations center shows real-time KPIs, open exceptions, approval workflows and the status of every reconciliation.
For payments work, Simetrik offers more than 100 pre-built control cases for common counterparties such as Visa, Mastercard, central banks and regional processors. Each includes reconciliation logic, dashboards and alerts, and Simetrik states that customers go live in weeks. Controls are organized into eight domains running from cash flows and settlements to accounting integrity and regulatory compliance.
Simetrik states it reconciles more than $500 billion in payment volume a year, processes 2.5 billion records a day and serves more than 180 clients in over 50 countries; these are vendor figures. Ledge sells close management software with modules for working papers, flux analysis, journal entries, account reconciliation, cash application and payment reconciliation. The payment reconciliation module connects the ERP, banks, payment processors and billing systems, matches payouts, refunds and chargebacks, and handles partial references, rounding and lump-sum deposits with AI-suggested matches.
Ledge distinguishes the two cash-side jobs: cash application matches incoming payments to open invoices, while payment reconciliation checks that processor settlements tie out to expected amounts after fees, chargebacks and adjustments. It integrates natively with Stripe, Adyen and PayPal and connects to more than 11,000 banks; other processors can be loaded by file or API.
Exceptions are assigned an owner and tracked to resolution with supporting data, and a clearing-account view shows what is reconciled, delayed or at risk for the close. Cointab is reconciliation software for finance teams that compares internal records, such as sales reports, ERP exports and ledgers, with external records such as payment gateway reports, marketplace settlements, bank statements and cash-on-delivery partner reports. Custom workflows handle cases such as ERP sales against Stripe, PayPal and Adyen, or ERP against gateways against the bank. Saved workflows are reused each period.

UniReco is the payment reconciliation and returns product from Unicommerce, an Indian ecommerce operations software company that also sells order, inventory and warehouse management. UniReco fetches sales, payment and return files from major marketplaces and matches orders, payments and returns across them, showing each order as awaiting payment, reconciled, disputed or failed.
Merchants build marketplace rate cards covering commission, fixed, pick-pack, payment gateway and shipping fees, with SKU-level commission overrides and support for different fulfillment models. Each order carries its UTR, the Indian bank transaction reference, so missing payments and overcharges can be traced. Unicommerce lists leakages UniReco looks for, including shipping, pick-pack and commission overcharges, carrier damage and replacements or inventory damage without reimbursement.
Returns reconciliation tracks returned, delivered and pending returns. Reports are GST-ready, and an on-call dispute management team guides sellers through the reconciliation process.
Potential strengths
- Order-level UTR detail exposes missing payments and fee overcharges
- Sold alongside Unicommerce order, inventory and warehouse products
Trade-offs
- No published prices
- GST reporting and marketplace focus make it India-specific

A2X connects ecommerce sales channels to accounting software. It reads Amazon and Walmart settlement data, Shopify, eBay and PayPal payout data, Etsy payment data and TikTok Shop order data, and posts it to QuickBooks Online, Xero or NetSuite. Sage is also supported, and ERP users can take a custom export.
Rather than posting every order, A2X creates one summarized entry each time a marketplace or store pays out, broken into sales, fees, refunds, tax and other transaction types. Because the entry equals the payout, the deposit in the bank feed reconciles against a single transaction. For gateways such as Stripe and PayPal used on a store, A2X creates a separate entry per gateway, with daily, weekly or monthly options.
Tax is split into taxed, untaxed and tax-exclusive sales and separated by country. Sellers who upload SKU costs get a value-based COGS entry. A2X runs a directory of ecommerce accountants and bookkeepers who work with the product.
Potential strengths
- Published starting price for each sales channel
- Separates tax by country and can post a COGS entry from uploaded SKU costs
Trade-offs
- Only starting prices are shown on the overview pricing page; costs at higher order volumes were not recorded
- Built for ecommerce channels, not processor or bank-to-ERP reconciliation at enterprise scale
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Per month, per sales channel; starting prices only
- Source review: checked Oct 22, 2026
- Vendor confirmation: not confirmed
Synder is accounting automation software for retail, ecommerce and SaaS businesses. It connects more than 30 sales and payment platforms, including Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Stripe, PayPal and Square, and posts sales, fees, refunds and taxes to the ledger either as individual transactions with SKU and customer detail or as daily, monthly or payout-based summaries per channel.
For reconciliation, Synder syncs each sale, fee, refund and tax to a clearing account and reconciles both sides inside the product. The matching engine flags discrepancies before month end and logs each reconciled period for audit. If-then rules by amount, vendor, description or location assign accounts, classes and tax codes as transactions sync.
Plans are sized by monthly sales transaction volume, starting at up to 500 a month on Basic. Synder RevRec, a separate product, builds ASC 606 revenue schedules from Stripe data. Synder states SOC 2 Type 2 certification.
Potential strengths
- Published monthly and yearly prices for four plans
- Choice of per-transaction detail or summary journal entries
Trade-offs
- Magento, Clover, TikTok, Walmart and the Synder API are premium integrations on higher plans
- Prices above Basic vary with transaction volume
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly or yearly; yearly billing saves 20%
- Source review: checked Oct 22, 2026

Frequently asked questions
What is payment reconciliation software?
Payment reconciliation software checks that money expected from customers, processors, card schemes and marketplaces actually arrived, in the right amount and after the right fees. It imports orders, processor reports, settlement files and bank statements, matches them at transaction or payout level, and lists exceptions such as missing payments, short settlements, duplicate refunds or fee overcharges for a person to resolve.
How is payment reconciliation different from account reconciliation?
Account reconciliation proves that each general ledger balance is correct at period end, usually for the month-end close. Payment reconciliation works at transaction level, often daily, and follows each payment from order to processor settlement to bank deposit. Ledge and Optimus cover both. Corporate close tools are compared on StatWharf's account reconciliation software page.
How much does payment reconciliation software cost?
Published prices in October 2026 started at US$29 a month per channel for A2X and $52 a month billed yearly for Synder Basic. Cointab costs $149 to $749 a month with users included. Optimus meters on reconciled transaction volume and Ledge charges one platform fee, but neither publishes figures. Simetrik, Osfin, FSS, AutoRek and UniReco price by quote.
Which payment reconciliation tools suit ecommerce marketplace sellers?
A2X and Synder post marketplace and store payouts to QuickBooks Online, Xero or NetSuite so each bank deposit matches an entry. Cointab offers templates for Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra and DoorDash data. UniReco reconciles orders, payments and returns across Indian marketplaces and checks commission and shipping deductions against rate cards.
Which products suit banks, issuers and payment institutions?
FSS Recon AI reconciles card, ATM and Indian instant-payment transactions and includes dispute and chargeback workflows. AutoRek reconciles card scheme files, instant payments and settlement in different currencies, and adds safeguarding calculations for payment and e-money firms. Simetrik offers templates for Visa, Mastercard, central banks and regional processors.
Can payment reconciliation software find processor fee overcharges?
Several products check fees as well as amounts. Optimus validates processor and scheme fees against contract rates on every plan. UniReco compares marketplace commission, shipping and pick-pack deductions with merchant-defined rate cards. AutoRek reconciles network and scheme fees, and Osfin customers describe auditing gateway charges and failure rates.
What should buyers check during evaluation?
Buyers should list every data source, including processors, banks, marketplaces, couriers and the ERP, and confirm each has a native connector, file template or API route. They should also ask how the product treats timing differences, FX and partial settlements, whether it posts journal entries, how exceptions are assigned and audited, and how the price changes with transaction volume.
How was this list compiled?
Candidates came from buyer queries for payment reconciliation software, including top-10 queries, and from vendor websites across payment operations, banking and ecommerce segments. Each vendor's product and pricing pages were read on 22 October 2026 through r.jina.ai or the raw page HTML. ioNova was considered and excluded because its product resolves ISO 20022 payment addresses rather than reconciling payments. Link My Books was left out because its prices load only through an interactive calculator. No product was tested hands-on, and no entry is vendor-confirmed.
