Best Client Portal Software (2026): Top 9 Compared
Client portal software gives agencies, consultancies, accounting and law firms, and other service businesses one branded login where clients exchange files, sign documents, answer requests, pay invoices and check progress. The nine products below fall into four groups. SuiteDash, Assembly (formerly Copilot) and Plutio are all-in-one business platforms with a portal at the centre, priced for small firms. Clinked, Moxo and FuseBase are collaboration and workflow portals that sell on branding, permissions and process automation. ShareFile and TaxDome start from document exchange and accounting work, with portals built around requests and e-signatures. Softr is a no-code builder for teams that want to assemble a portal on their own data. Eight of the nine publish list prices; Moxo quotes.

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.
Client portal software gives a service business one secure place to work with each client: sharing files, collecting documents, getting signatures, answering questions, showing project progress and taking payment. Buyers are typically owners and operations leads at agencies, consultancies, accounting, tax, legal and financial advisory firms, who want fewer email threads and a more professional client experience under their own brand. Portals for manufacturers and distributors, where buyers reorder products and pay statements, are covered on a separate B2B customer portal page.
The comparison below covers nine products: three all-in-one business platforms built around a portal, three collaboration and workflow portals, two document-centred portals for accounting and regulated firms, and one no-code portal builder. Assembly is the product formerly sold as Copilot. Pricing comes from each vendor’s public pricing page, checked on 12 October 2026. Eight vendors publish list prices; Moxo quotes.
Vendor details and trade-offs
SuiteDash describes itself as all-in-one business software, combining more than 25 toolkits behind one login: CRM, onboarding, projects, file sharing, proposals, invoicing, scheduling, email marketing and a client portal. The pitch to service firms is consolidation, replacing several single-purpose subscriptions with one system that is branded as the firm's own.
SuiteDash's documentation treats the portal as the authenticated environment around everything a client is allowed to use. Firms present it with their own logo, colours and custom URL, and can show each client a dashboard assigned directly, by circle or team, or by role, with a fallback dashboard for everyone else. Portal pages carry resources, announcements or personalised content, and an assigned page can become the first screen after sign-in. The documentation notes that an account can have one custom URL, which requires a DNS record.
Pricing is the main distinction. Plans are priced per account rather than per user, and SuiteDash lists unlimited staff, unlimited contacts and unlimited portals on the entry plan. Thrive adds proposals, drip marketing, deal pipelines and client-side live chat. Pinnacle adds the automation toolkit, onboarding flows, a learning management system, support tickets and task dependencies.
Potential strengths
- Flat account pricing keeps costs predictable as staff and client counts grow
- Portal dashboards and pages can be assigned by contact, circle, team or role
Trade-offs
- Automation, onboarding flows, learning management and support tickets sit on the top Pinnacle plan
- An account can use only one custom URL for its portal
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly, yearly or one-time Century payment; one price per account
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026

Assembly is the client portal company formerly called Copilot. It renamed itself in September 2025, explaining that the Copilot name had become hard to find once Microsoft and GitHub used it for AI assistants. Assembly's own update states that existing client portals and custom domains kept working through the change.
The product combines a CRM for the firm's team with a branded client experience on the firm's domain. Clients message the team, share files, sign contracts, complete tasks and pay invoices in one place. Assembly ships more than 30 ready-made apps covering intake, onboarding, proposals, payments and project tracking, and each can be adapted. An AI app builder creates new apps from a written description; Assembly states that sign-in, permissions and data isolation remain platform infrastructure rather than generated code, that each app runs in its own sandbox, and that the company holds SOC 2 Type II certification.
Pricing is set by active client contacts and internal users. Build credits are consumed only when the AI builder creates or edits an app, not when clients use a live app. Firms with regulated data should note that the HIPAA business associate agreement appears on the Advanced plan.
Potential strengths
- Free plan lets a firm run a live portal for its first five active clients
- Advanced plan adds audit log, client access permissions, enforced MFA and a HIPAA business associate agreement
Trade-offs
- Custom domains and removal of the Assembly badge start on the $99 Professional plan
- Internal users are capped per plan below Enterprise

- Product documentation

- Billing terms: Annual or monthly; annual billing discounts the base subscription

Clinked sells white-label client portal software for secure collaboration, and states that more than 3,000 businesses across 40 countries use it. Its customers are typically firms that handle sensitive client documents and want the portal to look entirely like their own product.
Each client gets a workspace for files, tasks, approvals, messages and project updates. Clinked lists version control, document watermarking, full-text search, group and one-to-one chat, Kanban boards on Premium, and migrations from SharePoint, Dropbox and Box. Integrations named on the pricing page include DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat Sign, Power BI, Google Workspace, Microsoft OneDrive and Jotform, and Clinked states access to more than 7,000 integrations through connectors such as Zapier.
The plan structure is unusual. A per-user Start Up plan covers very small teams, while Standard and Premium are flat monthly prices that include a fixed number of members. Enterprise adds the white-label mobile app, Active Directory and single sign-on, uptime SLAs and data centre choice. Clinked also sells a separate virtual data room product with redaction, dynamic watermarking, NDAs and Q&A for transactions.
Potential strengths
- Standard plan includes tasks, shared calendar, discussions, group and one-to-one chat, audit trail and a dedicated account manager
- Lists ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2 Type II and UK G-Cloud and Cyber Essentials credentials
Trade-offs
- White-label email notifications, enforced 2FA and role-based permissions require Premium
- The Premium price differs between the plan card and the comparison table on the pricing page
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly, yearly or two-yearly

Moxo positions its portal as the place where client work moves forward rather than a dashboard where documents sit. Each relationship can get its own branded portal: clients see one, vendors see another, and each runs its own processes. Firms choose which elements a portal offers, such as flows, AI chat, resources and service requests.
The client side is designed to remove friction. Moxo states that clients need no account, password or download and open one secure link on any device. Inside, they complete document requests, forms and uploads, give e-signatures and approvals, book meetings and video calls, pay invoices and pass identity checks. An AI concierge answers status and next-step questions so staff do not have to.
Behind the portal sits Moxo's workflow engine. The pricing tiers add sub-flows, business rules, branching, loops and scheduled flows, along with preparer, reviewer and advisor agents that draft documents, check submissions for completeness and handle follow-ups. Moxo's customer stories name Savills for commercial property deals, Palmetto for solar customer onboarding and Emirates Bank for wealth clients, which places it toward larger organisations.
Potential strengths
- Separate branded portals can be run for clients and for vendors, each with its own processes
- Combines document requests, e-signatures, approvals, scheduling, video calls, invoices and identity checks
Trade-offs
- No published pricing
- Built around workflow design, which takes more setup than a file-sharing portal
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Custom quote
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026

FuseBase describes itself as AI-native client portal software and states that it has operated since 2014 and is used by more than 3,000 businesses. Its product splits into an internal workspace for the team and external workspaces, which are the client portals.
The design argument is that a portal that looks like a project management tool goes unused by clients. FuseBase therefore builds portals as protected microsites with the firm's branding, on the view that clients already know how to navigate a website. Each portal can include pages, file sharing, real-time updates and client-facing apps, and FuseBase presents portals for onboarding, ongoing client service and partner or deal spaces.
The internal side includes task management, Kanban boards, calendars, dashboards, content templates, chat, comments and workflow automation, plus AI agents and transcription quotas. Pricing scales by members, portals and clients rather than storage alone, so the Solo plan suits a single practitioner with one client relationship and Essentials covers up to 100 clients. White label and granular permissions and groups are listed from the Advanced plan, which is the tier most agencies reselling a branded experience would need.
Potential strengths
- Internal workspace, client portal and AI agents share one subscription
- Plans state limits for members, portals, clients, storage and automation runs
Trade-offs
- White label and granular permissions start on Advanced
- Solo plan allows only one client portal and one client
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly subscription; discounted rate shown alongside the standard rate
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026

TaxDome is practice management software for accounting, tax and bookkeeping firms, and the client portal is one of its central components rather than an add-on. The portal and mobile app carry the firm's branding, and TaxDome states that firms can customise the URL, login page and automated system emails.
Within a job, clients can complete an intake form, upload documents, approve or e-sign documents and engagement letters, message the firm securely and pay. TaxDome reports more than 1.2 million jobs completed in 2024, more than 400,000 documents e-signed, more than 300,000 proposals and engagement letters signed, and more than $500 million in invoices paid through the platform.
The rest of the system covers an unlimited CRM, ready-made workflow automations, integrated email, SMS and chat, proposals and payments. Pro adds an IRS transcript integration, general ledger connections for bookkeepers, AI reporting, account roles and a managed firm website. Business adds Client Care, in which TaxDome's support team answers clients' platform questions, plus seasonal seats and client import assistance. Pricing is per seat per year, so the cost scales with staff rather than clients.
Potential strengths
- Unlimited document storage and e-signatures at no extra cost on every plan
- Business plan's Client Care team answers clients' platform questions on the firm's behalf
Trade-offs
- Built for accounting firms; other service businesses get little from the tax and ledger features
- Annual per-seat commitment, with the custom firm URL starting on Pro
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Annual per seat, with 1-, 2- or 3-year commitments

Plutio is all-in-one business software for freelancers and small teams, and it includes a client portal on every plan. Plutio frames the problem as hours lost to status emails, scattered files and invoices held in separate tools, and the portal as the place where clients find all of it.
Each client sees a branded space with live project progress and task status, shared files, the message thread and full invoice history with a payment button for anything outstanding. Plutio states that clients reach the portal through a unique link sent with their first invoice or proposal, or through the firm's custom domain, and do not need a Plutio account or a download. Firms control visibility per client: some get full project and file access, others see only invoices and payments.
Around the portal, Plutio includes unlimited projects, invoices, proposals and contracts with e-signatures, time tracking, scheduling, forms and Kanban, list, calendar and Gantt task views, with payments through Stripe, PayPal or Square. Plans differ by active clients, contributors, AI credits, workflow actions and storage rather than by features, which keeps the comparison simple for a solo operator deciding when to move to Pro.
Potential strengths
- Every plan includes the full core feature set, including the client portal
- Per-client control over what each client sees, from full project access to invoices only
Trade-offs
- Core is limited to 9 active clients and one person
- Removing Plutio branding costs extra below the $199 Max plan
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly or yearly
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026

Softr is a no-code application builder, and client portals are one of its main use cases. Rather than selling a fixed portal, it gives a team drag-and-drop blocks and a data layer from which to build one. Softr states that more than one million teams use the platform.
The data model is the main distinction. Softr connects natively to its own Softr Databases and to Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion, HubSpot, monday.com, ClickUp, MySQL, Postgres and Supabase, plus a REST API connector, and syncs those sources in real time. A firm that already tracks clients and projects in Airtable or a CRM can expose that data to clients without migrating it.
Softr's portal page lists the building blocks: sign-up and login pages with conditional onboarding forms, account management, in-portal messaging and comments, document upload and e-signature requests, shared project timelines and tasks, invoices and payments through Stripe or PayPal, embedded dashboards and a resource hub. Portals can be turned into a downloadable mobile app. Pricing counts builders and app users, with client users defined as those outside the builders' email domain, so firms should check app user limits on each plan against their client count.
Potential strengths
- Portal can be shaped to an unusual workflow instead of fitting a fixed product
- Data stays in the systems the firm already uses through live connections
Trade-offs
- The firm builds and maintains the portal itself, with no ready-made client workflow
- Removing Softr branding and granular permissions require the $99 Pro plan
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly or yearly
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026
- Vendor confirmation: not confirmed
Frequently asked questions
What is client portal software?
Client portal software gives a service business a secure, usually branded website or app where each client logs in, or follows a secure link, to exchange files, sign documents, answer requests, message the team, check project status and pay invoices. It replaces email threads and separate file-sharing, e-signature and payment tools with one place per client relationship.
How much does client portal software cost?
Eight of the nine products on this page publish prices. Entry plans start at $19 per month for SuiteDash, Plutio and Softr's Basic plan, and Assembly and Softr offer free plans. ShareFile charges $16.50 to $41.66 per user per month on annual billing with a three-user minimum, TaxDome charges $800 to $1,200 per seat per year on a one-year term, and Clinked's Standard plan is $239 per month for 100 members. Moxo quotes.
Which client portals price per user and which charge a flat fee?
SuiteDash charges one price per account with unlimited staff and clients. Clinked's Standard and Premium plans are flat monthly prices that include a fixed number of members, while its Start Up plan is per user. ShareFile and TaxDome charge per staff user or seat. Assembly prices by active client contacts and internal users, FuseBase by members, portals and clients, Plutio by active clients and contributors, and Softr by builders and app users.
Can a client portal be fully white-labelled?
Yes, but often only on higher tiers. SuiteDash includes white-labelling and a branded mobile app on every plan. Assembly adds custom domains and removes its badge from Professional, Clinked adds white-label email on Premium and a white-label mobile app on Enterprise, FuseBase lists white label from Advanced, Softr removes its branding from Pro, Plutio includes it on Max, and TaxDome adds a custom firm URL and branded emails from Pro.
Do clients need an account to use the portal?
It depends on the product. Moxo states that clients open a secure link with no account, password or download, and Plutio states that clients use a unique link without a Plutio account. ShareFile, TaxDome, Clinked, SuiteDash and Assembly give clients a login, and ShareFile states that it guides clients through account setup.
Which client portals suit accounting and tax firms?
TaxDome is built for accounting, tax and bookkeeping firms and includes an IRS transcript integration and ledger connections on higher plans. ShareFile sells an Industry Advantage plan with templates for tax engagements and states support for HIPAA, FINRA and SEC requirements on Premium.
How is a client portal different from a B2B customer portal?
A client portal serves a service relationship: files, signatures, tasks, messages and invoices between a firm and each client. A B2B customer portal serves product buyers who reorder, track shipments and pay statements with a manufacturer or distributor. StatWharf covers B2B ordering and accounts receivable portals on a separate page.
