Best Chargeback Management Software (2026): Top 10 Compared
Chargeback management software helps merchants stop card disputes before they become chargebacks and fight the ones that do. The ten products here split three ways. Chargeflow, Justt and Disputifier are automation platforms that build and submit evidence and usually charge a share of recovered revenue. Chargebacks911, Chargeback Gurus, Verifi and Equifax combine software with managed services, and Verifi runs the Visa-owned prevention networks that most other vendors resell. Signifyd, Riskified and Stripe add representment to a fraud or payments product the merchant may already use. Chargeflow, Disputifier and Stripe publish their fees; the other seven price through sales.

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.
Chargeback management software helps online merchants keep card disputes from turning into chargebacks, fight the chargebacks that do arrive and stay under Visa and Mastercard monitoring thresholds. Buyers also search for this category as chargeback software, chargeback prevention software, dispute management software or chargeback representment services.
The ten products compared here fall into three groups. Chargeflow, Justt and Disputifier are automation platforms paid mainly on recovered revenue. Chargebacks911, Chargeback Gurus, Verifi and Equifax pair software with specialist teams and network-level prevention tools. Signifyd, Riskified and Stripe add representment to fraud or payments products. All pricing notes were checked in October 2026. Entries with dated source checks appear first. That order records research readiness. It is not a measure of product quality or a ranking.

Vendor details and trade-offs
Chargeflow is a chargeback platform built around five modules: Insights, Prevent, Automation, Alerts and Connect. Automation runs the full dispute cycle, from collecting data across more than 100 payment processors, ecommerce platforms and business tools to building evidence tailored to the store's products and policies and submitting it. Chargeflow states that its models follow Visa's Compelling Evidence 3.0 standard. Evidence is enriched with tracking data from more than 1,200 couriers, customer messages from Gmail and Zendesk, and subscription data from Recharge and Chargebee.
Alerts connect to Verifi and Ethoca as well as Chargeflow's own network, refund matched transactions automatically and let the merchant filter by amount, card BIN or reason code. Chargeflow states that duplicate alerts are not billed twice. Prevent screens orders for friendly fraud and stolen cards, and Insights consolidates dispute data across processors at no cost.
The Enterprise plan adds a dedicated customer success manager, card-network program monitoring, EU data centres, SSO and user provisioning, SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR documentation, and legal redlines. Connect lets payment platforms embed or white-label the service.

- A 25% share of recovered revenue can cost more than a flat fee at high dispute values
- Enterprise features such as SSO, EU hosting and DPA redlines are sold by demo
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Usage-based: share of recovered amount, per deflected alert and per scanned transaction; no subscription stated

Justt describes itself as an AI-native, enterprise-grade chargeback management platform. Its Dynamic Arguments engine validates and enriches each case from more than 500 data points, such as billing address, delivery confirmation, device fingerprint, IP geolocation and purchase history, then selects the arguments and evidence most likely to win that reason code. Justt states that it runs continuous A/B tests across its merchant network and applies winning changes to all relevant merchants.
Pre-chargeback tools sit in the same platform. Justt integrates Ethoca and Verifi alerts with refund rules the merchant configures, plus Order Insight and Consumer Clarity to resolve cardholder confusion before a dispute is filed. Workflow rules can accept chargebacks on cancelled subscriptions, trigger notifications or refund on alert.
A ratio view tracks Visa VAMP and Mastercard ECP and SMMP standing by PSP, with email warnings before rates become risky. The FAQ lists SOC 2, ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701, GDPR and CCPA compliance. Justt also covers Apple and Google refund requests and Klarna and PayPal disputes.

- Integrates with more than 40 PSPs, including Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Braintree and Nuvei, through their official APIs
- Ethoca, Verifi CDRN, RDR, Order Insight and Consumer Clarity are handled in the same platform as representment

Chargebacks911 sells end-to-end chargeback management as a managed service. Its merchant solutions page lists five components: response and representment, Intelligent Source Detection, merchant onboarding audits, refund-based prevention through alerts, and data-based prevention through inquiries. The company calls this a dual-layer approach that reduces chargeback volume and recovers revenue from invalid claims.
Intelligent Source Detection identifies the true source of each chargeback so that it can be addressed at that source. Reporting includes month-to-date statistics and error, risk and threat notifications. Chargebacks911 states that it is agnostic to existing systems, supports any currency including DCC, and currently powers 944 industry integrations.
Industry pages cover ecommerce, travel, retail, digital goods and financial institutions. A separate line of solutions serves acquirers and issuers. The company's own resource hub compares fully managed and SaaS chargeback management, and Chargebacks911 positions itself on the fully managed side.
Potential strengths
- Covers both prevention (alerts and inquiries) and representment in one managed engagement
- States PCI Level 1 and SOC 2 compliance and offices in North America, Europe and Asia
Trade-offs
- No price, fee base or contract term is published
- Product pages describe services more than software features, which makes self-serve evaluation hard

Equifax announced a definitive agreement to acquire Midigator, a chargeback prevention and dispute management provider, in July 2022, describing it as a complement to its Kount business. Midigator.com now redirects to Equifax's identity and fraud pages, where chargeback work sits under Prevent Payment Fraud and Manage Disputes.
Chargeback Prevention consolidates Ethoca Prevention Alerts, Verifi CDRN alerts, Ethoca Consumer Clarity, Verifi Order Insight, Visa Compelling Evidence 3.0 and Rapid Dispute Resolution through one API. Equifax states that alerts give about 24 hours to issue a refund before a chargeback.
Chargeback Recovery consolidates transaction data and card-brand insights as soon as a dispute arrives, decides which disputes to fight, matches orders and pairs evidence with reason codes using templates. Merchants choose their level of automation, and win-loss reporting supports strategy changes. Equifax states an average recovery rate of about 65%. Dispute Processing is a separate product for acquirers and processors.
Potential strengths
- Publishes how its stated 65% average recovery rate is calculated (won divided by won plus lost, excluding pre-arbitration)
- Prevention bundles Visa and Mastercard tools behind one integration and one account
Trade-offs
- No pricing published for any chargeback product
- The Midigator brand no longer has its own site, so older documentation and reviews may describe a different product

- Product documentation
- Billing terms: Quote-based; terms not published

Verifi, a Visa solution, sells three layers of chargeback tools. Order Insight shares purchase data with issuers and cardholders at the point of inquiry, which can deflect disputes caused by confusion and automatically deflect confirmed chargeback fraud. Cardholder Dispute Resolution Network (CDRN) gives merchants 72 hours to credit the cardholder on Visa and non-Visa disputes before a chargeback is filed. Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR) auto-decides Visa disputes with a configurable decision engine.
Verifi states that disputes resolved through CDRN or RDR are not eligible for later disputes and do not count against Visa's dispute ratio, though acquirers may apply their own risk parameters. The RDR Decision API lets merchants run their own rules by business, industry or payment type.
RECOVER is Verifi's representment service. Merchants share compelling evidence through several integration options, and Verifi's specialists build and submit response packages for all major card brands, with on-demand reporting. Many vendors on this page resell or integrate Verifi's tools.
Potential strengths
- CDRN covers Visa and non-Visa networks, including Mastercard, Discover and American Express
- Disputes resolved through CDRN or RDR cannot resurface as chargebacks and do not count against Visa's dispute ratio
Trade-offs
- No public pricing for any service
- RECOVER representment is a managed service, so merchants wanting self-serve automation need another tool

- Product documentation
- Billing terms: Quote-based; terms not published

Chargeback Gurus combines a chargeback platform with an expert services team. The platform brings alerts and chargebacks into one view, with RBAC and SSO, analytics and integrations with existing systems.
Prevention uses Enhanced Smart Prevention Alerts, drawn from Ethoca and Verifi CDRN, with RDR management, MID ratio monitoring with early warnings, and custom alert strategies in place of blanket refunds. The vendor states that it catches alerts other systems miss, such as partial disputes and mismatched transaction dates. Order Intelligence sends transaction data to issuers at the point of inquiry and covers Amex Dispute Resolution as well as Visa and Mastercard tools.
Smart Chargeback Representment pairs AI-orchestrated processing with an A/B testing manager for dispute frameworks, a real-time dashboard with more than 40 widgets, case tracking and a quality assurance hub with audit workflows. Industry pages cover ticketing, cruise, gaming, retail, subscription, hospitality, car rental, telecom and insurance.
Potential strengths
- Representment can be fully managed by experts or run by the merchant's team with custom dispute frameworks
- Platform includes RBAC, SSO, case tracking and a quality assurance hub
Trade-offs
- No pricing or fee base is published
- Industry pages focus on travel, ticketing and service businesses rather than small online stores
- Product reference

- Source review: checked Oct 21, 2026

Disputifier combines chargeback responses, chargeback alerts, fraud prevention, item-not-received prevention and risk analytics in one platform. Responses are evidence-backed and assembled automatically, and the company describes the product as fully automated with no upkeep.
Alerts deflect disputes that are not worth fighting. The dashboard tracks prevented chargebacks by source, including Ethoca, RDR and CDRN. Disputifier states that it automatically credits false-positive, duplicate and non-refunded alerts. Smart rules let a merchant refund disputes under a set amount and fight others when the chargeback rate is below a chosen level.
Fraud prevention assigns AI risk scores to orders before they ship, and shipping-related tools keep customers informed of delays to prevent item-not-received disputes. Disputifier lists more than 30 integrations with CRMs, gateways, PSPs and subscription platforms, offers a Shopify app and API documentation, and supports multiple MIDs and stores in one account.
Potential strengths
- $250 cap per recovery limits the fee on high-value disputes
- Handles multi-MID and multi-store setups with per-MID dispute rates
Trade-offs
- Alert and fraud prevention prices are not shown on the served pricing page
- Lists 30+ integrations, fewer than some competitors
- Product reference

Signifyd Chargeback Recovery is the representment product in Signifyd's commerce protection platform. The product page targets chargebacks on legitimate transactions disputed after the fact, which Signifyd calls chargeback fraud. Evidence is compiled and documentation is filed automatically, and Signifyd states that merchants see a 50% increase in win rates on average.
The product sits next to Guaranteed Fraud Protection, which backs approved orders with a financial guarantee, and Complete Chargeback Protection, listed as a separate solution. Signifyd states that reversing illegitimate claims improves a merchant's standing with issuers over time. Monitoring dashboards show chargeback trends and recovery performance.
Pricing is custom and tied to order volume, vertical and performance goals. Buyers already comparing Signifyd for checkout fraud screening can price representment in the same quote.
Potential strengths
- Evidence is compiled and filed without merchant work
- Recovery reporting covers chargeback trends and performance
Trade-offs
- No published price
- Best suited to merchants that also run Signifyd at checkout
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Custom quote tied to usage; terms not published
- Source review: checked Oct 21, 2026

Riskified Dispute Resolve collects a merchant's chargebacks into one platform, which Riskified calls a chargeback operating system. It integrates with the payment gateway to fetch chargebacks and disputes in real time, so deadlines are not missed.
Evidence creation and submission are automated. Riskified notes that compiling evidence for one chargeback by hand takes an analyst 20 to 30 minutes. Teams that want control can open the packet in a built-in editor, attach files and submit with one click. Dashboards filter and segment chargeback and dispute performance.
When Riskified also screens orders at checkout, it collects and enriches contextual data on every order and reuses that data as evidence if the order later becomes a chargeback. The product sits next to Riskified's Chargeback Guarantee, Policy Protect and Account Secure products.
Potential strengths
- Integrates directly with the gateway to fetch chargebacks and disputes in real time
- Merchants choose how much of the workflow to automate
Trade-offs
- No public pricing
- Evidence quality depends on Riskified already being in the checkout flow
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Billing terms: Quote-based; terms not published

Smart Disputes is Stripe's automated dispute response, labelled a public preview in Stripe's documentation. An AI rules engine analyses each incoming dispute and assembles evidence from Stripe's internal data, the merchant's transaction data and cardholder data, tailored to the dispute reason. Eligibility depends on factors including reason code, payment method, evidence availability, relevance and cost.
When an eligible dispute arrives, Stripe notifies the merchant by email and in the Dashboard. If the merchant takes no action, Smart Disputes submits the pre-filled packet just before the deadline. Merchants can add their own evidence, counter manually, accept the dispute or turn off auto-submit.
Stripe also sells dispute prevention powered by Verifi from Visa and Ethoca from Mastercard, with per-resolution fees on the pricing page. The service is limited to Stripe-processed payments, so merchants on several processors need a multi-PSP tool for the rest.
Potential strengths
- Publishes every dispute and prevention fee on the US pricing page
- Prevention tools powered by Verifi and Ethoca are available in the same account
Trade-offs
- Covers only payments processed on Stripe, and only disputes Stripe marks eligible
- Documentation labels Smart Disputes a public preview
- Product reference
- Product documentation
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Per dispute: share of won amount plus per-dispute network fees

Frequently asked questions
What is chargeback management software?
Chargeback management software helps merchants prevent, track and fight card disputes. Prevention features resolve disputes before they become chargebacks, through alerts such as Ethoca and Verifi CDRN, Visa Rapid Dispute Resolution, and data-sharing tools such as Order Insight and Consumer Clarity. Representment features gather evidence, match it to the reason code and submit a response to the issuer. Most products also report dispute ratios by merchant ID.
What is the difference between chargeback prevention and representment?
Prevention acts before a chargeback is filed. An alert or resolution network tells the merchant about a dispute, and the merchant refunds or shares order data so the case closes without a chargeback. Representment happens after a chargeback is filed: the merchant submits evidence to reverse it. Verifi states that disputes resolved through CDRN or RDR do not count against Visa's dispute ratio.
How much does chargeback management software cost?
Prices published in October 2026 were mostly success-based. Chargeflow charged 25% per recovered chargeback and $29 per deflected chargeback alert. Disputifier charged 20% of recovered revenue, capped at $250 per recovery. Stripe Smart Disputes charged 30% of each won dispute's amount plus Stripe's $15 dispute fee. Justt stated success-based pricing without a rate. Chargebacks911, Chargeback Gurus, Verifi, Equifax, Signifyd and Riskified priced by quote.
Is there free chargeback management software?
Chargeflow Insights is free and consolidates chargeback analytics across processors, and Chargeflow Prevent includes the first 1,000 scanned transactions free. Success-based tools such as Chargeflow Automation, Disputifier and Justt charge nothing until a chargeback is won, but they are not free: the fee is a share of recovered revenue.
Do chargeback tools work with Stripe, Shopify and PayPal?
Stripe Smart Disputes works only inside Stripe. Chargeflow lists native integrations with Shopify, Stripe, WooCommerce and PayPal, plus more than 100 integrations in total. Justt lists more than 40 PSPs, including Stripe, Adyen, PayPal and Braintree. Disputifier offers a Shopify app and more than 30 integrations. Buyers should confirm that every processor in use is supported before signing.
What is VAMP and why does it matter for chargebacks?
VAMP is the Visa Acquirer Monitoring Program, which tracks merchants whose dispute and fraud ratios exceed Visa's thresholds. Mastercard runs a similar Excessive Chargeback Program. Merchants above the thresholds can face fines or lose processing. Justt and Chargeback Gurus report ratios by PSP or MID with early warnings, and alerts that resolve disputes before a chargeback help keep ratios lower.
Should a merchant use a managed service or automated software?
Automated platforms such as Chargeflow, Justt, Disputifier and Stripe Smart Disputes build and submit evidence with little staff involvement. Managed providers such as Chargebacks911, Chargeback Gurus and Verifi RECOVER assign specialists to cases. Merchants with complex verticals such as travel, ticketing or insurance often need case review, while high-volume ecommerce stores may prefer full automation.
How was this list compiled?
Candidates came from buyer queries for chargeback management software and from vendor websites. Each vendor's product, pricing or documentation pages were read on 21 October 2026; Verifi's site blocks automated requests, so its pages were read through r.jina.ai. HighRadius was considered and left out because its dispute management product handles B2B invoice and deduction disputes, not card chargebacks. No product was tested hands-on, and no entry is vendor-confirmed.
