Best AI Video Generators (2026): Top 9 Compared
The nine products below split into two groups. Avatar and presenter platforms turn a script, document or slide deck into a video with a talking AI presenter. Generative video platforms turn a text prompt or an image into new footage. The table states the published entry price and the unit each vendor bills in, because credits, minutes and seats are not comparable across vendors.

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.
AI video generators create video from a script, a document, an image or a text prompt without a camera crew. Business buyers use them for training, onboarding, product explainers, localisation and advertising footage. The market splits in two. Avatar platforms, such as Synthesia, HeyGen, Colossyan and Elai.io, render a digital presenter reading a script and focus on languages, templates and LMS export. Generative video platforms, such as Runway and Luma AI, produce new footage from prompts and reference images and are priced by credits per second of output. A third group, including invideo AI, Pictory and Vyond, assembles finished videos from generated, stock or animated elements.
Pricing was checked in September 2026 on each vendor’s own pricing page. Because vendors bill in credits, minutes or seats, the table lists each plan’s unit next to its price. Entries with dated source checks appear first, which records research readiness, not product quality.
Related pages cover AI voice generators and interactive demo software. Buyers limited to a free plan or a low entry price can compare affordable AI video generators.
Vendor details and trade-offs
Synthesia builds presenter-led video from a script. A user picks an AI avatar and a voice, writes or pastes text, and the platform renders a video with the avatar speaking it. The pricing page states voices and languages for 160+ languages and claims use by 90% of Fortune 100 companies, which is a vendor figure.
The plans now use credits as a shared currency across usage-based features. The free Basic plan and the $29 Starter plan both allow 10 minutes of video a month. Creator, at $89 a month, raises that to 30 minutes and adds 5 personal avatars, API access, branded video pages and multiple avatars per scene. Enterprise removes the seat cap, adds 240+ stock avatars, unlimited personal avatars, SAML/SSO, live team collaboration, SCORM export and a dedicated customer success manager.
A newer feature, Roleplay Sessions, lets learners practise conversations with an interactive avatar and receive scored feedback. It is metered by sessions per month on each plan. The product suits organisations that publish training and policy video in many languages and need it to drop into an LMS.
Potential strengths
- Avatar library of 125+ on the entry paid plan and 240+ at Enterprise, plus personal avatars from the Creator tier
- SCORM export, SSO and live collaboration are documented for the enterprise tier
Trade-offs
- Monthly video minutes are low on the self-serve plans: 10 minutes on Starter and 30 on Creator
- SSO and SCORM export are not available below Enterprise, which has no public price
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly or yearly; Starter $29 is the monthly rate

Colossyan positions itself as a single platform for video-first training and enablement content. Its pricing page groups the product in stages: preparation, with a course outline editor and PPT and PDF import; creation, with 300+ stock avatars and 700+ stock voices; review; localisation into 120+ languages; and publishing.
Minutes are metered by avatar model. Starter includes 20 minutes a month with NEO and half a minute with NEO2. Professional includes 30 minutes with NEO and 10 with NEO2, removes the watermark, allows unlimited MP4 downloads and adds 5 SCORM exports a month and AI image generation. Enterprise lifts the limits. It adds unlimited custom avatars and voices, unlimited SCORM export, conversational avatars, branded and studio avatars, a dedicated customer success manager, custom SSO/SAML and a choice of EU or US data residency.
Interactive videos and auto-translations are counted per month on the lower plans. The product fits a training team that wants to build a course and its videos in the same tool and export both to an LMS.

Runway is a generative video company that trains its own models and also offers other vendors' models in its app. The pricing page lists Gen-4.5, Gen-4 Turbo and Aleph from Runway next to third-party models including Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Seedance and Nano Banana Pro. It states more than 60 million creators, a vendor figure.
Plans are sold in credits. Standard includes 625 credits a month, which the page converts to 52 seconds of Gen-4.5, 104 seconds of Gen-4 Turbo or 78 Gen-4 images at 1080p. Pro includes 2,250 credits, custom voices for lip sync and text to speech, and 500 GB of storage. Max includes 9,500 credits, a one-month rollover of unused credits, first access to new models, ProRes and image-sequence export, and HDR output. Enterprise adds custom credit packages, single sign-on, workspace analytics and configurable teamspaces.
The per-model cost table is the main buying aid. Gen-4.5 costs 60 credits per 5 seconds and Aleph 2.0 costs 140 credits per 5 seconds, so the same plan buys very different amounts of video by model.
Potential strengths
- The pricing page states how many seconds of Gen-4.5 each plan buys, for example 52 seconds on Standard
- Max adds ProRes and image-sequence export and HDR generation up to 16 bit
Trade-offs
- Monthly credit allowances buy short clips: Standard covers 52 seconds of Gen-4.5
- SSO and workspace analytics are Enterprise features with no public price

Luma AI develops its own video models, the Ray series, and offers them with third-party image and video models in one product. Its pricing page shows logos of teams including Serviceplan, Dentsu, Publicis Groupe and Mazda.
All individual plans use credits. Plus includes 10,000 credits a month, access to Luma and third-party models, guest collaborators and commercial use. Pro includes 40,000 credits and four times the usage of Luma Agents. Ultra includes 150,000 credits and fifteen times the agent usage. The Team plan adds member management, projects, team-wide sharing, usage analytics, shared credits and SSO. Enterprise adds commitments, training and custom fine-tuning.
The cost table shows why the credit count matters. Ray3.2 text-to-video costs 20 credits per 5 seconds in draft mode and 400 credits per 5 seconds at 1080p, and HDR doubles the base cost. On Plus, 10,000 credits buy 125 seconds of 1080p Ray3.2 video. Luma suits teams that need cinematic output and are ready to budget by resolution.
Potential strengths
- Commercial use is included from the entry Plus plan
- The Team plan adds shared credits, usage analytics and SSO
Trade-offs
- 1080p generation is expensive in credits: 400 credits per 5 seconds on Ray3.2
- Team and Enterprise prices are not published

invideo AI is a prompt-to-video tool. A user describes the video, and the product writes the script, selects or generates footage, adds a voice and assembles an editable video. The pricing page lists access to 200+ image, video, audio and music models, including Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Nano Banana Pro and ElevenLabs music, plus stock from iStock and Storyblocks.

Max includes 3,900 credits, 16 avatars and 100 GB. Generative includes 8,000 credits, 40 avatars and 2 TB. Elite includes 42,500 credits, 200 avatars and 10 TB. - Unused credits do not roll over to the next month

Pictory converts existing material into video. A user supplies a script, an article, a slide deck or a long recording, and the product builds a video with stock footage, captions and an AI voice, or cuts a long video into short clips. It is closer to an automated editor than to a model that generates new footage.
Plans are priced per year. Starter includes 2,400 video minutes a year, 5 GB of storage, 1 brand kit, 720 minutes of ElevenLabs voices in 29 languages and access to 5 million stock videos. Its 1,200 AI credits a year buy up to 2,000 images, 12.5 minutes of generated video or 40 minutes of avatar video. Professional raises the minutes to 7,200 and the credits to 12,000, and adds custom avatars, voice cloning and video summarisation. Team is for 3 or more users with a shared workspace and onboarding. Enterprise adds interactive hosting with quizzes, SCORM export, SSO and a dedicated success manager.
Pictory suits content teams that already produce text and recordings and need them in video form at volume.
Potential strengths
- Stock video from Getty Images and Storyblocks is included on every paid plan
- Annual plans include a consultation with a video-creation expert, which the page values at $210
Trade-offs
- AI credits for generated video are limited: Starter covers 12.5 minutes of generated video a year
- SSO and SCORM export are Enterprise features for 10+ users

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI video generator?
An AI video generator creates video from text, images, documents or existing footage with machine learning. Two kinds dominate business use. Avatar platforms such as Synthesia, HeyGen, Colossyan and Elai.io render a presenter speaking a script. Generative platforms such as Runway and Luma AI create new footage from a prompt or an image. Tools such as invideo AI and Pictory assemble finished videos from generated and stock media.
How much do AI video generators cost?
Entry prices checked in September 2026 ranged from free plans to about $30 a month. Runway Standard costs $12 a month billed annually, invideo AI Plus $17, Pictory Starter $25, and Synthesia Starter, HeyGen Creator and Elai.io Creator $29. Team and enterprise tiers cost more: HeyGen Business is $149 a month, and Vyond Enterprise is $137 per user a month billed annually.
Why is it hard to compare AI video generator prices?
Vendors bill in different units. Synthesia, Colossyan and Elai.io meter minutes of finished video. Runway, Luma AI, HeyGen and invideo AI sell credits, and each model costs a different number of credits per second. Vyond prices per user. The fair comparison is minutes or seconds of the output the team needs for each dollar, calculated from each vendor's cost table.
Which AI video generators support SCORM export for an LMS?
The pricing pages checked in September 2026 list SCORM export on Synthesia Enterprise, HeyGen Business, Colossyan Professional and Enterprise, and Pictory Enterprise. Colossyan Professional caps SCORM exports at 5 a month. A training team that needs LMS delivery should price the tier where SCORM appears, not the entry plan.
Can AI video generators be used for commercial work?
Luma AI lists commercial use from its Plus plan, and most paid plans on this page remove the vendor watermark. Commercial terms differ by vendor and model, and third-party models inside Runway or invideo AI may carry their own terms. A buyer should read each vendor's terms of service for rights to generated output and for any limits on avatars of real people.
What is the difference between a stock avatar and a custom avatar?
A stock avatar is a presenter from the vendor's library, available to every customer. A custom or personal avatar is built from footage or a photo of a specific person, usually an employee, so the video features that person. Synthesia includes personal avatars from Creator, HeyGen includes a custom video avatar on the free plan and 5 on Business, and Colossyan and Elai.io list custom avatars by tier.
Do unused credits or minutes roll over?
It depends on the vendor and plan. HeyGen lists credit rollovers from Creator, and Runway Max rolls unused credits over for one month. invideo AI states that unused credits do not roll over. Buyers with uneven monthly output should check this on the pricing page before choosing a plan size.
How were these AI video generators selected?
The page covers products that publish a current pricing page and serve business video, split between avatar platforms and generative video platforms. Each price was read on the vendor's own pricing page in September 2026. Products whose prices could not be read reliably from the vendor site were left out. Entries with dated source checks appear first, which records research readiness, not product quality.
