Best Personal Training Software (2026): Top 9 Compared
Personal training software lets a trainer deliver workouts and track clients outside the session itself: a program builder with an exercise video library, a client app for logging workouts, nutrition and habit tracking, messaging, progress metrics and, on most plans, a way to sell packages and take payment. The nine products below fall into three groups. Trainerize, TrueCoach, PT Distinction, Everfit, My PT Hub and CoachRx are coaching apps priced by the number of active clients, built for independent and online trainers. TrainHeroic is a performance-focused coaching platform priced by athlete count, with a marketplace for selling programs. PTminder and Exercise.com lean toward the business side of in-person training, with session booking, packages, memberships and payments; Exercise.com sells a wider gym management platform on custom quotes. Eight of the nine publish list prices.

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.
Personal training software gives a trainer one place to run the coaching relationship: building workout programs, delivering them to clients through a mobile app, tracking workouts, nutrition and habits, messaging between sessions and, on most plans, selling packages and taking payment. Buyers range from independent and online trainers with a handful of clients to personal training studios, gyms and franchise operators managing teams of trainers.
The market splits by how the trainer works. Online coaching apps focus on program delivery, client accountability and branded apps, and price by the number of active clients. Products for in-person businesses add booking calendars, session packages, classes and memberships, and some extend into full gym management.
The comparison covers nine products: six client-priced coaching apps, one performance coaching platform with a program marketplace, one booking-led personal training system and one quote-based fitness business platform. Pricing comes from each vendor’s public pricing page, checked on 12 October 2026. Eight vendors publish list prices; Exercise.com quotes.

TrueCoach is personal trainer software built around programming and client accountability. Its site lists fitness professionals such as strength and conditioning, bodybuilding, weightlifting and nutrition coaches, healthcare practitioners such as physical therapists and chiropractors, and larger operators such as CrossFit coaches, universities and recreation centres as its audience.
The program builder lets a trainer create, save and schedule workouts and copy them across clients, drawing on a library of more than 3,000 professional exercise videos or the trainer's own uploads. Clients follow the plan in the app, log results and see progress graphs and exercise history. Nutrition targets sync with MyFitnessPal, alongside habit tracking. In-app messaging keeps communication inside the platform.
Plans differ mainly by the number of active clients. Starter covers up to five, Standard up to 20 and Pro up to 50. Standard and Pro add public coach profiles, data integration with Apple, Garmin, WHOOP and other wearables, a custom-branded fitness app, advanced habit and nutrition tracking, and business automations through Zapier. Automated payments are included at no extra charge on all three plans.

- Standard and Pro add wearable data, a custom-branded app, public coach profiles and Zapier automations

PT Distinction is personal trainer software sold on a simple principle stated on its pricing page: every plan carries the same feature list, and plans differ by the number of clients included and whether the client app carries the trainer's own branding.
The feature list is broad. Trainers build training programs of any type, or use an AI program generator and pre-made templates. Nutrition coaching includes meal plans and an AI meal planner, with tracking of client meals. Assessments can be built in or custom. Group tools cover challenges and group training. Communication runs through in-app messages, scheduled email and scheduled SMS, and automated workflows handle repetitive tasks. Trainers can review clients' exercise technique.
For the business side, trainers can sell packages and take payments on their own website, with clients added and programs delivered automatically, and integrations cover payments and client metrics.
Pricing is monthly in US dollars. Basic includes three clients with standard apps; Pro and Master include 25 and 50 clients and add custom-branded iOS and Android apps. Above the included number, each extra client adds a fixed monthly fee that falls on higher plans. The FAQ states that trainers can be added to a team at no charge.
Potential strengths
- No feature gating between plans and no charge for extra trainers
- Low per-client rate above the included allowance on Master
Trade-offs
- Basic has no custom branding on the apps
- Per-client overage on Basic is high relative to the plan price

Everfit is a coaching platform for fitness coaches, nutrition coaches, sport coaches and gyms and studios, and its homepage cites more than 380,000 coaches. The platform supports both personalised one-to-one coaching and one-to-many coaching through on-demand content, forums and challenges.
The free Starter plan already includes a custom exercise library with more than 1,000 exercises, the workout builder, metrics and progress photos, tasks with reminders, inbox messaging, and client and coach apps for iOS and Android, for up to five clients.
Pro adds booking and scheduling, habit coaching, forms and questionnaires, a food journal with macro tracking, basic meal plans, an advanced multi-week program builder, saved responses and AI-drafted replies in the inbox. The site also lists MacroSnap meal logging, sport coaching drills and integrated payments.
Studio is aimed at established coaching businesses, studios and gyms. It adds custom branding of the client app, community forums, team member management, group chat, broadcast messages and an on-demand training portal with resource collections, workout collections and self-paced programs. Enterprise adds a white label app, API access and 24/7 support.
Potential strengths

My PT Hub describes itself as all-in-one software for personal trainers and fitness coaches, and its homepage cites more than 200,000 coaches. The product covers client management, workout and nutrition delivery, bookings, payments and branding, with a client app on iOS and Android.
Workouts are built with an AI workout builder and templates, and assigned and tracked per client with exercise history, personal bests and metrics. Nutrition coaching covers custom plans and tracking. A calendar handles one-to-one sessions on all plans and group bookings, classes, events and live streams from Premium. Other listed tools include habit coaching, wearable integrations, automated check-ins, scheduled messaging and communities.
Payments run through Stripe. Trainers set up packages in the platform, and the FAQ states that clients pay nothing to use the app unless the trainer sells them access.
The pricing model is unusual for this category. Starter is a small entry plan capped at three clients, while Premium and Ultimate remove the client cap altogether. Spending then grows through add-ons: a custom-branded app, extra trainer seats, a white label listing under the trainer's own business name in the app stores, AI-assisted check-ins and a Zapier connection. Ultimate bundles all of these with five extra trainers and concierge support. The FAQ states that accounts drop to a free plan when the trial ends without an upgrade.
Potential strengths
- Premium includes group bookings, classes and live streams, automated check-ins and community features
- Each add-on is priced individually on the pricing page
Trade-offs
- Starter is limited to 3 clients and 50 workouts and nutrition plans
- White label app store listing costs $145 per month unless on Ultimate
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Flexible monthly, or annual term paid monthly at a lower rate
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026

CoachRx is coaching software for one-to-one coaches. Its homepage states that it is built for coaches who value depth over volume and practise individual program design, and it cites more than 8,000 coaches.
Program design takes place on a unified calendar that covers exercise, nutrition and lifestyle, supported by an AI assistant called RxBot, more than 60 OPEX-designed program templates, and periodisation and planning tools. Lifestyle Rx lets the coach prescribe daily behaviours outside the gym and track them on visual calendars with compliance metrics, with wearable integrations and automated health data sync.
Delivery tools include a coach dashboard, video, voice and text communication and progress reports. On the business side, the site lists automated billing through Stripe, business metrics and reporting, custom storefronts and team management.
Pricing uses three client bands, and each band includes the complete feature set. Coaches with more than 150 clients are directed to support for enterprise pricing. The pricing page also offers transition assistance, in which the vendor's team migrates data, sets up the account and trains the coach.
Potential strengths
- Every account includes all premium features; only the client band changes the price
- Free data migration and onboarding offered with the trial
Trade-offs
- Wide pricing bands mean a trainer with six clients pays the same as one with 50
- Built around individual program design rather than template delivery at scale
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly, or annually at a lower monthly rate
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026

TrainHeroic is a coaching platform for strength and conditioning and performance coaches. Its coach page addresses coaches who train athletes both in person and remotely and want to manage a gym floor and a remote roster from one system.
Programming is organised around a customisable library of workouts, circuits and full programs, which coaches can build themselves or start from the platform's own content. Clients can be grouped into teams for program delivery and group communication, or coached one-to-one. The athlete app is used to log training and track results, and leaderboards add a competitive element for groups.
Coaching tools include video review of athlete lifts with feedback, real-time chat with messages and reactions, and a client tracking dashboard covering compliance, progress and programming status.
The TrainHeroic Marketplace is the main point of difference. Coaches can list training programs for sale to athletes anywhere, which creates recurring revenue outside one-to-one coaching. Pricing scales by athlete count in small steps from a single athlete to 1,000, with assistant coaches billed separately per month.
Potential strengths
- Low entry price and fine athlete-count steps up to 1,000
- Teams, video review, leaderboards and real-time chat for group and remote coaching
Trade-offs
- Oriented to strength and performance training rather than general fitness or nutrition coaching
- Assistant coaches are billed on top of the plan
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly by athlete count; change plan any time
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026

PTminder is personal training software with a business-management focus, and its site states that it is part of Xplor. Its homepage reports totals of more than 9.9 million bookings, 435,000 clients and US$218 million in payments processed through the platform.
The product centres on the calendar. Trainers set availability, manage bookings for one-to-one sessions and classes, and use session and class templates to schedule repeating work. Clients can view the schedule, book and pay for their next appointment from a phone. Packages, memberships and products are sold through the platform, with payments, invoicing and automated notifications reducing the need to chase late payments.
Client management keeps each client's details, bookings, payments and progress in one record. Workout and nutrition planners send plans directly to clients, and client assessments track starting points and results.
Plans differ only by the number of active clients, and every plan includes up to 20 trainers or staff. Billing counts active and lead clients, and the trainer controls which clients are marked inactive. A branded mobile app, published in the app stores under the business's own name and colours, is available as a monthly add-on.
Potential strengths
- All plans carry the same features, including scheduling, payments, invoicing, assessments and reporting
- Only active and lead clients count toward billing
Trade-offs
- Entry price of $59 is high for a trainer with a handful of clients
- Branded apps cost extra on every plan
- Product reference
- Pricing source
- Billing terms: Monthly by active client count; pro-rated on plan changes
- Source review: checked Oct 12, 2026

Exercise.com sells an all-in-one software platform for fitness businesses. Its site lists personal trainers among the industries served, alongside gyms, boutique studios, sports performance facilities, strength coaches, fitness influencers, physical therapy and corporate wellness.
The platform is organised into five areas. Business tools cover check-ins, booking, member and employee management, reports, custom-branded apps, multi-location management, remote door access, e-signed waivers and contracts, and automations. Workout tools cover a workout plan creator and logger, TV workouts, an exercise library, rep max progressions, performance reporting, leaderboards, progress photos and habit tracking. Marketing tools include a CRM, lead management, email, SMS, sales funnels and websites.
For online training, trainers can sell workout plans, run automated memberships, group challenges and livestreams, and sell digital products and on-demand content through their own branded apps. Payments include processing, e-commerce, trainer commissions, invoicing, coupon codes, payment splitting and point of sale.
Exercise.com does not publish prices. Its pricing page asks buyers to request a quote, and the homepage offers done-for-you migration from other software platforms. Its scope suits studios and facilities more than a trainer coaching a small online roster.

- Done-for-you migration from other platforms
Trade-offs
- No published prices
- Larger in scope than a solo trainer delivering programs typically needs

- Billing terms: Custom quote

Frequently asked questions
What is personal training software?
Personal training software gives a trainer one system to program workouts, deliver them to clients through an app, track results and stay in contact between sessions. Most products add nutrition and habit tracking, messaging, progress photos and metrics, and a way to sell packages and take payment.
How much does personal training software cost?
Eight of the nine products on this page publish prices. Trainerize and Everfit have free plans. Paid entry points include TrainHeroic at $9.99, Trainerize at $10, PT Distinction at $19.90, Everfit at $19, My PT Hub at $25, CoachRx at $29, TrueCoach at $29.98 and PTminder at $59 per month, all on monthly billing. Prices rise with the number of active clients. Exercise.com quotes.
Which personal training software has a free plan?
Trainerize's Basic plan is free for one client, and Everfit's Starter plan is free for up to five clients. My PT Hub's FAQ states that accounts move to a free plan after the 30-day trial if not upgraded. Every other product on this page offers a free trial instead: 14 days for TrueCoach, CoachRx, TrainHeroic and PTminder, and one month for PT Distinction.
How do client limits affect the price?
Most vendors charge by active clients. TrueCoach caps plans at 5, 20 and 50 clients. PT Distinction includes 3, 25 or 50 clients and charges a monthly fee for each extra client. Everfit, Trainerize and TrainHeroic sell many small bands. CoachRx uses three wide bands. My PT Hub removes the client cap from Premium upward. PTminder counts active and lead clients but not inactive ones.
Which products include a custom-branded client app?
PT Distinction includes custom-branded iOS and Android apps on its Pro and Master plans. TrueCoach lists a custom-branded app on Standard and Pro. My PT Hub sells a branded app for a one-time fee and a separate app store listing monthly, both included in Ultimate. PTminder charges $40 per month for branded apps. Trainerize sells branded apps as an add-on, Everfit adds branding on Studio and Exercise.com builds its platform around branded apps.
What software suits in-person personal trainers rather than online coaches?
Trainers who mainly see clients in person need booking, session packages, class scheduling and payment collection as well as programming. PTminder centres on the booking calendar, packages and payments. Exercise.com adds check-ins, POS and memberships for facilities. Trainerize, Everfit and My PT Hub include scheduling or booking on their paid tiers, while TrueCoach, CoachRx and TrainHeroic focus on program delivery and communication.
Can a personal training team or studio share one account?
Yes, with different terms. PT Distinction states that extra trainers can be added free. PTminder includes 20 trainers or staff on every plan. My PT Hub charges $10 per month per extra trainer, with five included on Ultimate. TrainHeroic charges $9.99 per month per assistant coach. Everfit adds team management on Studio, Trainerize prices added locations on Studio Plus, and CoachRx lists team management.
