Best Manufacturing ERP Software (2026): Top 10 Compared

Updated September 2026By StatWharf Editorial10 vendorsMethodology

Manufacturing ERP software runs a factory's orders, bills of materials, production scheduling, inventory, quality and costing in one system, and links them to finance. This page covers products built first for manufacturers; general-purpose business ERP suites are compared on the ERP software and ERP systems pages. The ten products below fall into three groups. Epicor Kinetic, Plex, DELMIAWorks, SYSPRO and QAD Adaptive ERP are mid-market and enterprise platforms sold through sales teams or partners, several of them with manufacturing execution built in. Global Shop Solutions and JobBOSS² focus on job shops and make-to-order production. Fishbowl Advanced, MRPeasy and Katana are cloud products for smaller manufacturers that publish a starting price. Only those three publish a figure; the other seven quote each deal.

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.

Manufacturing ERP software runs the operational core of a factory. It takes a customer order or forecast, explodes it through bills of materials and routings, plans materials and capacity, schedules work on the shop floor, records labour, scrap and quality results, and carries the resulting costs into finance. Manufacturers buy it when spreadsheets, a basic accounting package and separate scheduling tools can no longer show what a job really cost or when it will ship.

The ten products compared here split by scale and production style. Epicor Kinetic, Plex, DELMIAWorks, SYSPRO and QAD Adaptive ERP serve mid-market and global manufacturers, several with manufacturing execution built in. Global Shop Solutions and JobBOSS² concentrate on job shops and make-to-order work. Fishbowl Advanced, MRPeasy and Katana are cloud products for smaller manufacturers with published starting prices.

Every entry was checked against the vendor’s own pages in September 2026. MRPeasy, Katana and Fishbowl publish a figure; the other seven quote each deal.

Consider forSmall manufacturers and brands selling through ecommerce and wholesale channels that want production planning, shop floor tasks and inventory in one cloud tool connected to their accounting software, as Katana documents
Pricing notesFree covers 30 SKUs with unlimited users. Core starts at $299 per month with unlimited users, SKUs and integrations and one inventory location, and is usage-based: it scales with sales orders delivered and extra locations. Add-ons include Manufacturing Management at $199 per month, Traceability at $249 per month and Warehouse Management at $149 per month. Annual billing carries a small premium over monthly. Optional onboarding costs $2,000. Advantage is custom priced (checked Sep 2026)
Feature to evaluateShop Floor App assigns tasks to operators with no user limit

Katana is a cloud manufacturing and inventory platform aimed at small manufacturers that have outgrown spreadsheets but do not want the overhead of an enterprise system. Katana itself places the product closest to MRP II: it covers manufacturing and inventory and connects to accounting, ecommerce and shipping tools rather than replacing them.

Production features include multi-level BOMs with subassemblies, make-to-stock and make-to-order workflows, demand-driven scheduling, automatic allocation of materials to manufacturing orders by priority, outsourced production tracking and manufacturing cost calculations from BOMs and operations. The Shop Floor App gives operators task lists, instructions and time tracking, and role-based access limits what each user sees.

How to choose a vendor

Match the product to the production mode

Manufacturing ERP products differ most in the type of production they model. Job shops that quote custom parts need estimating, routings and job costing that compare estimates with actuals, which is the centre of Global Shop Solutions and JobBOSS². Repetitive and high-volume plants need scheduling, lot control and supplier scheduling, where Plex, QAD and DELMIAWorks concentrate. Process manufacturers need formulas, batch traceability and expiry dates. Buyers should list their production modes, including mixed-mode operations, and ask each vendor to demonstrate those exact flows rather than a generic order-to-cash script.

Decide whether the shop floor lives in the ERP

Plex and DELMIAWorks combine ERP with a manufacturing execution system on one database, and Epicor Kinetic offers MES and IoT data collection within its platform. Smaller products such as Katana and MRPeasy provide shop floor apps or kiosk reporting for operators rather than full MES. A plant that needs machine monitoring, operator instructions and real-time quality checks should confirm whether those come in the ERP, as an add-on module or through a separate system and integration, because that choice changes both licence cost and implementation scope.

Price the implementation, not only the licence

Published figures on this page cover subscriptions only. JobBOSS² states that implementation takes three to six months, QAD advertises deployments of core processes in 90 days, and Katana sells optional onboarding for $2,000. Data migration of items, bills of materials and routings, training, report building and integrations add cost for every product. Licensing models also vary: SYSPRO is moving all customers to named-user subscriptions, Global Shop sells concurrent users with an upfront and quarterly fee, and Plex charges one annual subscription with unlimited users. Buyers should ask for a multi-year total cost that includes services.

Frequently asked questions

What is manufacturing ERP software?

Manufacturing ERP software is an enterprise resource planning system built around production. Besides finance, sales and purchasing, it manages bills of materials, routings, material requirements planning, production scheduling, shop floor reporting, quality and product costing. General ERP suites can add manufacturing modules, while the products on this page were designed for manufacturers from the start.

How much does manufacturing ERP software cost?

Three of the ten products publish a figure. MRPeasy costs $49 to $149 per user per month, Katana Core starts at $299 per month plus a $199 manufacturing add-on, and Fishbowl Advanced Manufacturing starts at $675 per month. Epicor, Plex, DELMIAWorks, SYSPRO, QAD, Global Shop Solutions and JobBOSS² quote each deal, and implementation services are extra for all of them.

What is the difference between MRP and manufacturing ERP?

MRP calculates which materials are needed, in what quantity and when. MRP II adds capacity, labour and machine scheduling. Manufacturing ERP extends this to finance, sales, purchasing, quality and often HR in one system. Katana describes itself as closest to MRP II and connects to separate accounting software, while MRPeasy includes standard accounting and the larger platforms include full financials.

Which manufacturing ERP products suit job shops?

Global Shop Solutions and JobBOSS² are built around make-to-order work: quoting, converting quotes to jobs, scheduling and comparing estimated with actual job costs. Epicor Kinetic is also specialised for discrete and make-to-order manufacturing at a larger scale. Buyers should test how each handles one-off parts, repeat orders and engineering changes.

Do these products include a manufacturing execution system?

Plex and DELMIAWorks combine ERP and MES on one database, and Epicor Kinetic offers IoT-enabled MES within its platform. QAD provides barcode-driven shop floor control, and JobBOSS² sells MES as an add-on. Katana and MRPeasy provide shop floor apps or kiosk reporting rather than full machine-level MES.

Should a manufacturer choose cloud or on-premise ERP?

Plex and QAD Adaptive ERP are delivered as cloud services, and Katana and MRPeasy are cloud-only. Epicor Kinetic offers cloud, hybrid and on-premises deployment, and Global Shop Solutions offers on-premise, cloud or SaaS. On-premise suits plants with strict network or data rules, while cloud removes server upkeep and upgrade projects.

How long does a manufacturing ERP implementation take?

Timelines depend on scope, data quality and the number of sites. ECI states that JobBOSS² implementation takes around three to six months, and QAD advertises deployment of vital processes in 90 days. Cloud products for small manufacturers can go live faster, since data such as items and BOMs is imported from CSV files.

Are the vendors on this page ranked?

No. The vendors are listed in an order based on source readiness and content sequence, not quality. No product is named a winner. Each profile records the buyer fit, pricing and features documented on the vendor's own pages as checked in September 2026, and none of the entries has been confirmed directly by the vendor.
